proposed Frustrum Conformal antenna in a Pattern measurement set up in anechoic chamber.
Frustum shaped conformal antenna is suitable for transmission of telemetry data from a missile like spinning aerial platform.
A conformal antenna appropriately wrapped on to the surface provides potential solution and accordingly has been configured for meeting the requirements of a practical application. The antenna artwork has been designed to conform to the exterior geometry of the intended portion of conical surface and printed on a microwave substrate which is essentially thin and flexible. A corporate feed distribution scheme has been designed and tailored to match with the impedance of the microstrip radiator at multiple locations and also printed along with it making the frustum antenna very compact and of aerodynamic supportive form. The antenna produces required omni coverage in the plane normal to the roll axis.

Well well well. There were rumors some time back that Arjun mk2 will weigh less then 50 ton!!
Reliance was supplying the new hull. I don't know anything more. Can someone in know of Arjun mk2 inform us what is happening??

The Light Weight Portable Laser Target Designator (LWPLTD) system is a compact, rugged, tropicalized to operate in Indian Atmosphere and easy to handle Laser target designation / Rangefinder and target location system. It is a capable of being a part of combat load carried by troops as part of heavy drop load. It is portable by ACT in man backpack, in the least number of composite loads.
The LWPLTD system is used to detect, locate, recognize, mark, observe and designate stationary and moving targets during day and night missions. When designating, the LWPLTD illuminates the target with a coded laser beam for laser spot homing guided weapons, such as:
Laser-guided missiles
Laser-guided bombs
Laser-guided projectiles.

Mikoyan MiG-29 UPG of Indian Air Force has a fifth generation internal Electronic Warfare system.
The D-29 system developed by DRDO is an internal EW system by DRDO has it's antennas mounted at the leading edge of wingroot on both sides and one antenna pops out from the lower portion of starboard side tail fin.
The jammers are defensive in nature and are used to jam SAMs or AAMs fired at MiG-29. The jammers work on cross eye jamming principle. Cross-eye jamming is an electronic attack technique that induces an angular error in the radar by artificially creating a false target and deceiving the radar into detecting and tracking it. Presently, there is no effective anti-jamming method to counteract cross-eye jamming.
D-29 is an integrated EW system for Radar warning and jamming that encompasses RWR, ECM, ESM functions and utilizes state-of-the-art active phased arrays for selectively jamming the multiple threat radars. The D-29 system serves primarily as a self-protection jammer that will boost survivability, enhance situation awareness and increase mission effectiveness.
D-29 system detects and gives the information about the position of the RF sources illuminating the aircraft and applies the appropriate jamming technique. The system mainly consists of Unified Receiver Exciter Processor (UREP modified to suit the requirements of D-29), Solid State Transmit / Receive Unit (SSTRU) with Active Array Unit (AAU) and a liquid cooling system.

Anything against IR seekers ? besides chaff and flares.
Also why the fuck HAL/ADA are unable to accommodate it in LCA mk1 and 1A. It looks compact enough to be fitted on LCA airframe.
