The system performs functions of search, intercept, acquisition, analysis and direction finding of radar signal to assess the electronic order of battle.Two systems have been successfully inducted into the Indian Air Force in 1995.

Future Wars: India’s first-ever unmanned war machine is here; To be tested soon.

In an effort to ensure minimum casualties during the war, the Indian Army is getting ready to test out an unmanned vehicle next month. ‘SOORAN’ country’s first unmanned armoured vehicle, capable to fight on battlefields and be operated from a distance, has caught the interest of the Indian Army.

“SOORAN is field-tested and ready to go for manufacturing. We are still upgrading its autonomous capabilities and working on documentation works,” Dennis Ebenezar, MD of a start-up Defence Master India Pvt Ltd, tells Financial Express Online. The tests will be done in Chennai next month for the Indian Army. The tests next month which will be carried out next month is of significance, as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat in his interaction with the young Instrumentation &Control engineer had expressed interest in Project SOORAN during the DefExpo 2020.

The son of a retired schoolmaster, Ebenezar explains “The unmanned vehicle weighing around 500 kgs can be operated either through a control room or through a mobile phone. It has a mounted gun turret, and this too can be controlled remotely.”

It is multi-terrain vehicle. Equipped with artificial intelligence and has a petrol engine. Can be operated in three modes including teleoperated with remote, teleoperated from a mobile control station and through an autonomous mode. This is possible through artificial intelligence ‘NIVATA’. It also has onboard long-range cameras, high-end processors, controllers, sensors, power backup, etc. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as well as other stakeholders have shown interest in this futuristic war machine.

For the future Digitised future warfare, he is working on Artificial Super Intelligence NIVATA, which is under development and testing. “NIVATA specially designed to take on terrorists hiding inside buildings,” he says. “We have three ground and air combat systems are capable to conduct coordinated combat operation using Artificial Intelligence (AI) NIVATA, specially designed to take on terrorists hiding inside buildings.

And besides ‘SOORAN’ which is Tele-operated Unmanned Combat Vehicle with Autonomous mode, there is ‘Sky Emperor’: Drone with a Gun. Remote controlled and Autonomous and ‘Scout Flies’-a cluster of micro-drones used to destroy Specific targets using a small amount of chemical explosives loaded in it.” “Scout Flies can also be used for mass ground search operations with facial and object recognition and is fully autonomous with pre-designed tasks,” says the man who has self-financed these projects. “A demonstration is being scheduled for mid-April, where all the three combat systems will conduct a coordinated combat operation with help of NIVATA, with certain pre-designed assignments,” he adds.

A Four Wheel Drive All-terrain Vehicle with 500 CC petrol Engine, Mounted with Turret, with provision to mount M249 Grade and above grade Equivalent guns.

The joystick and switches provide full control of weapon system with high accuracy.

Our Artificial Intelligence NIVATA plays a major role in providing Tracking capability, easily pick out targets, Image processing, shoot on the move capability, etc., and completely enables SOORAN to be stable on the targets even on rough terrains.

The NIVATA provides an option for autonomous operation to SOORAN with limitations to take up routine tasks, emergency engagements and border surveillance.

SOORAN being an intelligent war machine is going to be a breakthrough on improving the accuracy of how we fight.

No need to lose our Soldiers in protecting the borders. Not anymore.. Now our brothers fighting for us will safely be back home at the end of their deployment.

Warhead was PCB ie penetration cum blast

Would have loved to see the size and depth of the crater.

SAAW in my opinion will be good for hitting aircraft bunkers / hangers , ATC , ammo pens , radar installations , power stations etc

For anti runway ops quite a no of SAAWs will be needed to disable a section of the runway.

To really put out a runway for good we need a bomb which can cause enough damage to loosen the underlying strata / layers of earth/rocks over a large area
Yeah, something along the line of Durandal anti air strip bombs but with guidance kits and glide wings.

The ASW Fire Control System (FCS) interfaces with the ship's SONAR and Combat Management System (CMS), and facilitates combat planning and launch of ASW weapons. I m not porki kicker but in my knowledge.

You will never be able to interface to the radio environment without some hardware. At the bare minimum you'd need an antenna and an amplifier.

The "software-defined" in "software-defined radio" means that the hardware is minimal and most of the system configuration, algorithms, and processing that define the radio are done in software.So the Unification is in software you can replace the current communications with SDR and can tune into each Weapons need in software.

@porky_kicker we don't have unified SDR for 3 forces so how mwf will connect with other forces platforms according to brochure.

Info on LCA mk1a SDR ( most probably israeli bnet airborne )

SFR means software defined radio where the functionality of much of the hardware ie analog processing has been replaced by digital processing ie software running on a relevant embedded system.

So this allows for easier interoperability between different communication systems including legacy communication systems. All you need to do is tweak the software to allow support of the same. Inbuilt compatibility for all kinds of comms is one of the main features of SDR.

L&T SONAR domes are manufactured using Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Moulding (VARTM) process.

Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM) is typically an open-top mold composite part fabricating method that attaches a vacuum bag to the top of the mold tool and applies vacuum to assist the continuous flow of low-pressure infused resin from one side of the mold to the other. Vacuum removes air from the preform and assists the VARTM machine’s on-ratio metered and mixed flow of degassed air-free resin through the compressed composite fiber preforms below the vacuum bag.



These Sonar Domes are made of Titanium / Steel / Composite.

How could you calculate the velocity to be so low?
Because of atmospheric drag + distance between earth & tungsten launcher at time of release of rods. --- those rods won't have enough velocity & kinetic energy to cause such huge damage. --- I read somewhere that to creat Megaton size impact you need to have those launcher orbiting Jupiter.
