So essentially a ballistic missile that can deliver Hypersonic Warhead and manuver back to its launch site? His concept was multi use hypersonic missile with payload delivering capability
Not a ballistic missile perse, otherwise what you said is correct. So essentially a ballistic missile that can deliver Hypersonic Warhead and manuver back to its launch site?
The upgrades of old L-70 and ZU-23 were not carried out by OFB.Based on news available so far, Sputnik just created a rumour. That’s about it.
Sputnik just confused people by saying OFB developed a new gun, but quite possibly OFB is planning to sell new equipment(maybe upgraded) but from old designs.
I will stick with this possibility until some new information comes to the fore, if there is new info it would definitely come up during def expo next year.
Gun.... Barrel portion.L70 upgrade already exists , it's in operational service.
Or did you mean the gun ( firing portion ) ?
Any idea what's taking Helina so long... it's been more than a decade of tests..For info
HELINA is for Indian army
DHRUVASTRA is the IAF variant of HELINA
If this is what I suspect it is, then we have tested it atleast once.
Seeker.Any idea what's taking Helina so long... it's been more than a decade of tests..
L-70 was upgraded by GCF - jabalpur, L&T, BELThe upgrades of old L-70 and ZU-23 were not carried out by OFB.
ZU-23 too was carried out by L&T. So you see, OFB has not played any role in these overall upgradation. Only the barrel part of L-70 was done by OFB.L-70 was upgraded by GCF - jabalpur, L&T, BEL
ZU-23-2 was upgraded by Punj-Lloyd, Bharat Forge(maybe).
What kind of other worldly seekers does the IA seek.. Nag has been performing fine in the desert at extreme temperatures both during day and night.Seeker.
Unless NAG reaches maturity, HELINA would not see serial production.
I am talking about maturity. What kind of other worldly seekers does the IA seek.. Nag has been performing fine in the desert at extreme temperatures both during day and night.
Seeker validation and first time a missile is being tested from a helicopter , lot of new SOP for testing etcAny idea what's taking Helina so long... it's been more than a decade of tests..

This should clear the range confusion regarding SMART ( supersonic missile assisted release of torpedo )
Range 50-650 km
It must be a huge missile with lot of fuel , carrying a torpedo to 650 km is no joke
