Soviet Union state owned enterprise build more than 120000 tank, 500000+ artillery pieces in middle of war.
But they don't have the bragging loud mouth like Chetoos sellers of India do they :)
U would produce a gun faster than u produce shit if the commie gov holds gun to Ur wife and kids head.
People like u would be the first one to be sent to Gulags if u are looking for job security.
Plus there is no reservation or job security in a commie society.
Its either u do the job or cut ice blocks in Gulags.

A commie socialist gov can't sustain itself unless they practice brutality on the masses.
In a capitalist u have an option to be lazy and ask for gov freebies.
In a socialist economy the first thing they'll do when asked for freebies is harvest ur organ and throw ya into a nice comfy pit in Siberia.

Is there any attempt to make a land based version of the 630 ? It could be very useful in border defence, especially if it was remotely operated and mobile.
Ofb was supposed to be working on one, hence i dont have any faith .

If it was a drdo project then i would have atleast some reasonable expectation.

If we can produce SSN then there is no sense in producing or importing large SSKs. It makes more sense to produce 12 more SSNs & 12 SSKs of sub 500tons weight

HAL's Goa helicopter MRO project to be functional soon, says Shripad Naik

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's proposed project of helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) in Goa would become functional soon as all the hurdles have been cleared now, Union minister Shripad Naik said on Sunday.

The HAL and French company, Safran Helicopter Engines, had entered into a joint venture - Helicopter Engine MRO Private Limited - to set up this helicopter maintenance plant at Honda village in North Goa.

"As far as the plant is concerned, it was conceived during the tenure of Manohar Parrikar as Defence Minister. There were some negotiations which were pending. They have been completed now," the Union Minister of State for Defence told reporters at Vasco on the sidelines of a function.

"Now the project will start as soon as possible. All the hurdles that were encountered for starting the plant have been cleared now," he said.

Parrikar had announced this project in October 2016. As per the plan, the facility was expected to have a total investment of Rs 170 crore, to be invested by both the parties in a phased manner.

The project is meant for maintenance, repair and overhaul of engines that are fitted on HAL-designed and manufactured helicopters.

The engines of advanced light helicopters of various versions, light combat helicopters and future light utility helicopters that are common between HAL and Safran would be maintained at this facility.

With a fleet of over 1,000 engines, including 250 TM333 and 250 Shakti, India's armed forces are one of the largest operators of Safran-designed helicopter engines.

Shakti is the Indian designation for the Safran Ardiden 1H1, co-developed with HAL and produced under licence.

New info on the unknown launcher

Launch position

Stowed position

Actual hardware realised , the entire removable missile container weights 4 ton.

r.jpg

And the entire missile container has to be replaced after firing all the 4 missiles with a new missile container containing 4 missiles.

I am 50% sure this launcher system is for Akash NG.

Note the mast in the picture which looks like a telescopic mast mounted microwave antenna for communication link . This sort of integrated comms system makes sense with high value weapon systems which needs support from external sources like radars , C2 systems. And the size of the container rules out surface to surface missile , so it has to be surface to air missile like Akash NG.

Agni 1P will replace Agni 1 and Pralay will replace Prithvi. Right?

It's the most lethal, sophisticated and all-weather battle tank that India has indigenously designed and conceptualised till date.

Meet Arjun 'Mk-1A' main battle tank, a 68-tonne rugged bull, waiting to join the Indian army and one of the star attractions at the 11th biennial edition of DefExpo India 2020 scheduled to be held in the Uttar Pradesh capital of Lucknow in February.

Armoured Corps has cleared the tank after successful completion of the final integration tests conducted earlier this year in the western sector of Rajasthan. Arjun Mk-1A is an improved variant of Arjun Mk-1, whose two regiments (124 tanks) are currently in service.
