Pinaka Mk2 launcher firing Mk2 rockets. 6 rounds per pod

Guided Pinaka launcher firing guided pinaka rockets. 4 rounds per pod.

The launcher is the same in all the cases only the pods are different and depending on operational needs different combinations of pods carrying different Pinaka rockets can be used on the same launcher.

Different types of Pinaka sub-munitions

DPICM - Dual purpose improved conventional munition is a top attack munition for both anti tank and anti personal role.

d.jpg

ATM - Anti tank munition is a bottom attack munition, much like a mine.

a.jpg

STM - Soft target munition is also a bottom attack munition much like a mine

s.jpg

All these sub munitions have a self destruct mechanism with different time periods to make the battlefield safe for own forces.

Complete info on Pinaka rocket family

The new Grad 122mm rocket based on Pinaka technology has a increased range upto 40km.

And the CEP of guided Pinaka is <= 30 m not <= 60 m as mentioned in the 2nd picture, it is a typo.
Also range of Pinaka Mk1 Enhanced rockets is 50 km not 45 km as mentioned in the 2nd pic.

Guided Pinaka GNC ( guidance navigation and control ) kit.

The GNC kit comprises of a unified avionics computer ( UNIAC ) which uses

INS + GPS guidance ( MEMS based INS and G3OM and IRNSS )

Canard based aerodynamic control which also allows for improved hit angle at the target.

It allows for CEP < 30 m for all ranges.

This picture is interesting for 2 reasons

1. Shows the guided pinaka rocket in detail.

2. Note the unknown missile in the background . Three seperated nose sections and a portion of the mid body covered in black cloth. Due to the presence of a pinaka rocket one gets a rough idea of the scale of the unknown missile which points towards the unknown missile being either

1. A tactical surface to surface ballistic missile like Pralay.
Or
2. A surface to air long range missile like any of the AD series interceptors.

Pinaka Mk2 range ?

60 km

It should interest you if this rocket is fired from high altitude regions , its range will be close to or exceed 90 km depending on the altitude.

And sir please dont refer me by sir :)
Ah, okay but I feel like that background missile can be interceptor, because I think pralay is going to be MORE BIG, that just my thought though.
That missile is critical for those Chinese designs in Tibet areas.

From DRDO to BPCL, India’s first underwater drone, EyeROV Tuna, finds many takers
Finding depth
Their product EyeROV TUNA is India’s first commercial remotely operated underwater drone, which can send real-time video of ships and other underwater structures to help with their repair and maintenance. “The drone can navigate up to a depth of 50 meters to take real-time HD video images to examine underwater, thus eliminating the need for costly and riskier manual inspection by divers,

If all the 4 parts are of same missile and brought together in same order without any modification, then it would resemble something like this.

Question not related to HSTDV.

What are those small jet nozzles at the sides on missiles which do path correction? Usually located near to the cone at the top.

I think they are there in Brahmos too..

Forgot the name...
Incase of ballistic missiles, they are associated with the ones below

Some of the

Reaction control system - RCS

Velocity trimming system - VTS

Divert and altitude control system - DACS

Systems/subsystems

Note the small size of the system , pen shown for scale

Sometimes they also include retro motors whose pics i have already posted previously , functionality is almost same as above .
