How come there are so many ATGM with same name?
AFAIK BDL is developing 3 types of ATGMs under AMOGHA program.

I am sure about the 2 types , not sure about the 3rd type.

1. AMOGHA - 1 ( wireless ATGM with RF guidance , 3 km range , 7.7 kg , 2nd generation )

2. AMOGHA - 2A ( not sure )

3. AMOGHA - 3 ( IIR seeker based fire and forget , 3rd generation , 2.5 km range , 15 kg , TVC & aerodynamic control with dual thrust propulsion )

Better pic of AMOGHA ATGM with detailed info

@Akula

First test firing of AMOGHA 3 is scheduled for December of this year.

And I have strong reasons to believe that BDL will use Tonbo AI enabled Auto Target Recognition and Tracking Dual Band / Tri Band IIR Seeker along with the Tonbo FCS.

Underwater glider 4th iteration

The objective of this R&D program is to develop a autonomous underwater glider which can carry out surveillance activities for upto 6 months at a stretch.

Note the top left corner of the pic , interesting shapes looks like winged missiles of some sort for naval applications.

6 months at once . Holy crap a lot of these will be swarming Indian Ocean then and we will probably weaponise them too.

DRDO, BDL, and Vem are making 3rd gen ATGMs, wow. No need for spike.
Just look at the shear breath of defense program under development at various stages. Our defense industry is on the precipice of a renaissance .

There are too many projects to count and track.

@porky_kicker is doing excellent job with information .

Just look at fighter jets for the last 30 years we were struggling with lca only and tracking the sole project but now we have a jet bloom
Lca mk1a , nlca mk1 , nlca mk2 , mwf and AMCA and lca sport with rustom 1 , 2 / tapas and AURA drones in simultaneous development. Also Saras revived and lot of engine projects from htfe to htse and Manik . It's a fucking renaissance of Indian science in defense.

That's why DRDO blocked spike deal . And some guys were debating me how nag program failed . Just look at the fruits of it. Entire family of missiles is coming up based on nag.

Only thing we need to do is expand our defence R&D , manufacturing etc horizontally i.e incorporate private industry under the guidanance of PSUs. This will save time , money , increase efficiency , competition , help innovation , nurture Indian talent etc etc.
With growing economy and defence needs , we have ample opportunities for growth in defence industry

Exactly. As very soon our defense budget will be third largest in the world ( already is 4th) it's fitting that we should have third largest defense industry after USA and china.

Private participation is already rising they just need to be given big bang projects now rather than just sub assembly . For example l&t must get to build submarines now. And Tata and Bharat forge should be given ficv program.

Not only big projects but small ones like small tactical arms and equipments. I read somewhere that current focus is on import substitution on those defence needs which can be easily replaced by indigenous products , this will save important dollars to buy what we lack in. Unlike the Chinese we are actually quite lucky to quickly buy high tech defence systems from the west right from US to Russia which can otherwise take years to develop. our NAM policy is paying dividends now.
Another focus should be on JV with leaders in thia industry which will give us valuable experience.

I know too well how much is going on. Not only the new programs, but also the growth and induction of giants like L&T, Adanis, TATAs, etc. into it and also, but never the least the small, but specialist ones like Tonbo, Vem, MKU, Astra, Data Patterns, etc. DRDO labs momentum rising with each successive program, and their growing partnership with industry. Plus all the outside OEM practically helping these guys create an Indian MIC. etc. etc. etc.

The future is very bright for Indian aero and defence make no mistake, I remember the days of foruming when I joined this forum and others - I couldnt say the same then.

I sense the game is much bigger. We are now part of mtcr , wessenar group etc and almost on par NATO ally to USA . That means we are in the western tent of technology .

The plan is now three fold
1) strategic weapon nuke ,ICBM nuke submarine etc develope complete independence.
2) other very high tech systems like jet engine , aircraft , drone etc buy from west with tot or joint project with aim to achieve indegenios solutions .

3)medium tech and low tech equipment==plug into global chain let west build in India or even buy outright with aim to export components back etc.

This way on high-tech strategic products we become independent and for all other things we have free market trade and slowly emerge as global hub for these .
