What is unique about this HJT 36 ?

View attachment 34430
Wing fences to induce laminar airflow and controlled vortices in a post stall recovery, an elongated tailboom to give that vertical rudder and tail elevators better control authority..
The IJT suffered from serious post stall instability that was dangerous. One side of the wing always dipped - meaning that the vortices were breaking down unsymmetrically. The changes introduced are to help keep them symmetrical.

Friends,

Please do not derail the thread by inserting Arjun into it. Seperate thread exist for Arjun Vs T-90.
Unless it being deliberately being done

Coming back to Dhanus...

Orders for further 400 now... no way.
OFB has a perpetual and permanent QC (Quality Control) issue.
Let them give the first 114 Dhanus to the Army. Army will use them and fire from those on LC - 60 rounds per hour and 24 X 7 and for two months.

Then let Army see which leg of Dhanus flies in which direction, how many barrels will burst, how many recoil springs will fly two km away and how many wheels will come off while firing.

Let the Army be assured that it is not an INSAS, ARJUN or NAG story. DRDO / OFB are famous for tom toming their mal which turns out to be dud.

So first make 114. Let those carry out live trials and prove their mettle. Then OFB will get orders - in trenches. Since OFB is incapable of managing cost and competition, that will be taken care of by MoD for the sake of "Indigenisation" and "Sovereignty".

We all know how much "sovereignty" their INSAS and ARJUN has generated. Especially that INSAS which generated indian " Sovereignty" in Bhutan, Nepal, bangladesh and Sri Lanka. All kamchor politicians and commission agents.

Asks others to not talk about Arjun to derail thread, but drags INSAS and Arjun in same post to make own point.
Buys foreign products in spite of failed trials and shortcomings - but demands perfection from DRDO and OFB.
Laments that others are not siding with army instead of DRDO and OFB - fails to notice own's hypocrisy.

Do not get annoyed. Clm down. Today MoD has announed that they are going to buy more than 500000 Caracal carbines .CAR 816. So that should add butter ghee into existing fire .

How bad.
You want to discuss Arjun and INSAS only, I am a game. Go ahead. Par gussa mat karo.

Only 400 athos will be built not 1600,rest 1200 will be atags. These athos too will be built in india by kalyani, the same company that will build atags.
Athos price is cheaper than even dhanush and its a modern gun which will build up our numbers until atags is ready. Also atags is mostly for plain and deserts due to 18 tn weight, athos is 13 tn ,better for rough terrain.
ATAGS is heavier by three tons. Chamber is also very large. It has many other problems - primary being mobility. Unlikely to be ordered.

Why should I get annoyed? I am just disappointed. Army comes from the same society as our politicians and beaurocrats and it is difficult to expect radical change in thinking just because someone is wearing a uniform.
Over time, hopefully, the thinking and attitudes in army and elsewhere will change - as younger generation with greater self-respect take over.

Mast mounted BFSR-MR on a mobile platform.

View attachment 34429
Does this mobile platform moves from place A to place B with mast raised like this on road or cross country ?
Or does it leapfrog ? How many numbers are deployed as a unit ?
Can it cross ditches and canals ?
What is mobile in it?
Can it be used as a jammer ?

What is the range of detection ?

The mast is retractable while moving

Then what happens to the area which it was scanning ? That remains dead zone during the period of move?
Yes, the idea is that it can be deployed across regions rapidly. Keeping multiple scanners so that one is scanning while other is moving is one method of management.

It scans the ground only, not air and thus needs to position itself in a stationary spot before scanning. For scanning the ground on the move, drone is the preferred option.

Dude! Everything doesn't do everything. Specific things do specific things in specific deployments.

The mast mounted BFSR-MR is specifically for monitoring borders for human/vehicular traffic....from a fixed position (even though they may be relocated to other position at will)..........they're not meant to move with strike corps!

These questions remain unanswered. ...............
