of the big guns that are made in the country, the barrels are manufactured in only two places, OFB and Kalyani. no matter who makes the gun, kalyani revenue is partially secure. will have to check if they export barrels.

this is to say, baba kalyani is the trend setter, he got into defence sector much before others did, even when there was no private defence industry as such. typical MBA CxOs wouldn't have taken such risks, baba kalyani could take these risks because he is both a metallurgy expert and a business owner at the same time.
