Private players do understand behavior of Govt., Babus and Armed Forces. Frankly the kind of situation we face no private player will ever invest big money in something like.. Fighter or engines. No one can invest in product where there is no hope for return of money.
Yes they can only invest in foreign companies products who have no chances of getting an order

That's much cheaper and time saving then trying to develop something. Creating a joint venture and renaming a product does not cost a lot of money. And our own forces and Babus love foreign maal. So why blame them.

It's simple there was pretty much no investment to be done if no order was given. Jet was ready, all the equipment has to be additionally used were ready, so only expense was marketing.
In AMCA TATA will have to invest money and a decades time to find out weather it will be accepted or not. In profitable numbers or not is another different story.
Look what happened to Arjun and Tejas, do you really think any private player would really want to invest in this 40 nombers in MK1 another some in Mk1A then another some in MK2 and then story goes on.

Good points, Private companies will invest only when there is money to be made. Tata invested in Kestral, where is it now not even one ordered. There is no clarity on the number to be built, no clarity on the share of work and not evern proper road map. Every year someone comes up new dates, Pvt companies are accountable to every penny they spend. No wonder no pvt company is interested in building it.

So in short, whether its DPSU or private company, all want orders to be placed before investing. Right?

What are you on about here mate? TATA would still need to invest heavily and F21 is just an concept not a real jet yes it's based on existing jet but it would still need investement for producing prototype and with no Orders too everyone knows F21 has 0 chance while Mk1A order will go well and beyond 150 easily way more numbers than MRFA so I don't get your "Some" orders it's a bigger order than MRFA and it's a confirmed order same with MK2 Airforce has backed it now orders will be given its just an excuse to not invest HAL was ready to share their Infra too but companies didn't show up for MK1A,MK2 and SPV for AMCA

Tata will put in the money only when the deal is signed, no one will build F21 if there are no orders. If and when there is a deal signed they will have the number. As of AMCA no one is ready to put up a number yet, so how do you expect them to invest.

The forces and Govt. have constantly failed to give confidence to private players for investing big in defense sector. Look at our rifle procurement or story of ATAGS. Every single procurement in Indian defense sector is a warning to private players.

Deal will never be signed they know it themselves it's just excuses after excuses what happened to TATA for HALE program? Navy assured orders too for HALE ,Tejas MK2 had assured orders and numbers too where were private companies when tejas MK2 was offered? And AMCA has numbers read the CCS Granted report yourself

So GOI did actually ask Pvt industry to help revive kaveri and they just ignored ? Shame , they just want to do screwdriver giri.
THey simply don;'t have the chops. Point few of their products that are world class in any field which they created out of their own research big or small? You will be hardpressed to find one....useless companies for the most part.
