So he is another Ajay shukla ?Written by the sellout named Prakash Katoch, why am I not surprised, there is so much bullshit written here that it would take a whole day exposing them.
One has to wonder how do these traitors manage to reach such powerful positions in the armed Forces.
Bloody sellouts
Even when he does praise the DRDO, he gives the credit to solely one man, Kalam. As if there aren't thousands of people who toiled to make the missile program,and no doubt other programs, a success.Written by the sellout named Prakash Katoch, why am I not surprised, there is so much bullshit written here that it would take a whole day exposing them.

Valid Points by Kunal Biswas. To begin with I'm not sure how safe a Gypsy is from the armoured PoV . It could be the Gypsy hasn't been armoured to compensate for mobility , agility & stealth. In which case it's vital it's equiped with fast moving drones for ISR of advance battleground such that it can be sanitized before the Gypsies followed by the tanks make their way there.

these days, if IA manages to make up their mind on what exactly they want, there is enough domestic industrial capacity to cater to their requirements. both the vehicle platforms and equipment options are available within DPSU and private sector to cook up a range of options for IA to choose from.Valid Points by Kunal Biswas. if jugaad is the preferred way for IA to make up their mind to visualise a solution faster, so be it. as long as it is kept in mind that domestic MIC is a friend of the forces, and not a villain as it is made out to be in public discourse.
let there be news about ASLV's performance in the desert first, then comes the chopping and retrofit part.They have ordered 1300 aslv's
Could they retro fit it later like whatever they want
Nearly 6 years ago , they were still using the Gypsy & before that it was the Jonga . They persisted with the Jonga much after the armies of most countries had retired it .these days, if IA manages to make up their mind on what exactly they want, there is enough domestic industrial capacity to cater to their requirements. both the vehicle platforms and equipment options are available within DPSU and private sector to cook up a range of options for IA to choose from.

The best part of the ASLV is it comes equipped with a German Diesel engine. Mahindra has been mfg jeeps since WW-2 , yet it imports engines.They have ordered 1300 aslv's

yeah and their automative diesel engines are quite good they are largest tractor manufacturer by volumes i dont think its hard for them to manufacture diesel engine for alsv most probably its to lower the cost to make it more affordable toThe best part of the ASLV is it comes equipped with a German Diesel engine. Talk about the real standards of Indian automotive industry !!
Those engines are imported from Germany which reportedly didn't answer a call to quote or negotiations when we in the process of finalising vendors for the diesel engine for the light tank Zorawar due to which we discarded the German option & went in for Cummins - an American co mfg out of India.yeah and their automative diesel engines are quite good they are largest tractor manufacturer by volumes i dont think its hard for them to manufacture diesel engine for alsv most probably its to lower the cost to make it more affordable to
since :
xuv700 diesel spec :
displacement:2200cc
power=183bhp
torque=450nm (1750-3000 rpm)
cost=(30-32 lakh per vehicle after tax)
alsv engine spec :
displacement:3200cc
power=215bhp
torque=500nm(2000rpm)
cost=1.2-1.3crore (dividing no. vehicles/contract value)
germany has always been a shit trade partner with the best engines on the globe i guess if given mahindra big follow up orders with clause to increase indiginous content then they may try to make an inhouse engines as i said they are really good in making diesel enginesThose engines are imported from Germany which reportedly didn't answer a call to quote or negotiations when we in the process of finalising vendors for the diesel engine for the light tank Zorawar due to which we discarded the German option & went in for Cummins - an American co mfg out of India.
In the case of Arjun Mk-1a they reportedly stated the time taken to restart the lines to mfg the MTU engine powering it would take 4 years. Result - DRDO is exploring options to power it with the in house 1500 HP diesel engine.
Moral of the story- Germany is an unreliable partner.
