logistical reasons 2 could be lifted where a single 47 tonne russian tank t90 is lifted from c17 type aircrafts is the best reason i can come up with and power to weight and all advantages too
C17 can lift upto 75 tonnes, and limiting your tank weight just so 2 can be lifted is not correct argument. Even if it can lift 1, it is enough. I mean may be we had problem on engine front, why did they go 700hp instead of our competitor 1000hp Type-15. I know that hp/ton is actual metric but same can be said for 33-ton Type-15 with 1000hp.
well no. of tanks lifted is important as we only have 11 c17 so if all 11 are working we can effectively double the deployment nope front engine is required for increasing crew safety also compititor is 7-8 tons more heavy thus 750-hp is apt for us we have a rfp and drdo did fulfir all requirements
