And how to fast track AMCA?
what about part fabrication , atleast the bulkheads or is that already in progress ?

GOI excepts private company involvement , but gotta ask , if private companies dont see a profit on this and no one takes it up . what then ?

too late. They should work on bettering LAMV by Mahindra. Otherwise this paper project shall only work as spanner in more Mahindra LAMV acquisition by army.

Guess TATA wants to give it back to Mahindra on what it did wrt to Whap when Tata DRDO whap was the sole working solution in the offing.

Tata should work on Internal things as of now like Transmission or Engine, now this exterior package jhumla. Even some countries worse than us can make these but not the engine or transmission. It should also conduct feasibility studies and r&d in future propulsion like hybrid or hydrogen fuel cells in view of future like how the AbramX demonstrator has ICE+Batteries.

Where goes the maximum investment on any such project?
Keeping in mind the profit part, government has kept open the option of private parties to use HAL facility and manpower which is investment intensive.

Never late. RFI released in 2022 for 800 vehicles. TATA is offering IA a modular solution.

Mahindra ASLV is also modular. tata model is yet to be realized. not to mention spate of internal testing it will have to undergo before going through army's rigorous testing. RFI's are fine.. but with dragon breathing around time is essentially we are short of. Hope frontline troops continue to be upgraded to available LAMVs than wait for another round of RFI ping pong.

Chassis body has changed. So tests shall be required from scratch. Tata has experimented with lot of types, but still has not found a foot in the segment. Before this they had land roveresque offering like below:

LAMV is around since 2014. It has already undergone lots of tests. Last time for ASLV project, TATA offered Merlin which was based on LAMV only.

As for the tests, be it TATA, Mahindra, Kalyani or any other, it would have to undergo the whole series of tests.

Ok. Valid point.

Then after all the tests, who would do the series production?
At least release money for HAL to build prototypes first. It will take 3-4 years . Let their be a real product in our physical realm. Once AMCA makes first flight the hype be get real and these private entities will be competing for the Serial production tender.

I would assume Mahindra already undergone those tests.. since its been acquired for UNOPS as well as frontline in limited no.

Any chassis change required homologation again and again series of tests. Remember even Mahindra's current vehicle is reworked Israeli AXE - and undergoing trials for more than decade for every iteration. Tata will undergo the same.

is there some sort of projected procurement plan for 1.5-2.5 tonne payload 4 wheel armoured category vehicles, all forces put together?

i am guessing, the number would be 10-15k over 15 year period, all variants combined.

101 of manufacturing.

You don't ask one company to build the prototype and another to run the series production. The moment you do it, first you would have to obtain certification for prototype, then again you have to repeat the whole test and certification process for series production.

So it would be either HAL or Private company who would be making AMCA from ground up.
