Yea that's why DRDO is involved that's why DRDO studied twin boom design for so long right, that's why hal is offering ur VANILA heron mk2 with IAI
DRDO involvement was not for structuel design it was for engine, the proposed engine for "Archer NG" is Austro-330EP 177hp one, DRDO done limited high altitude test with it, it was rated for 30k feet altitude prolonged operations also DRDO helped in tweaking existing fight controls system for high altitude landings, tbh without decent amount of tot Indian PSU can't make any cutting edge tech in tactical segment, but in UCAV it was at cost of our own UCAV programs,

I guess now only time will tell let's wait and see

Can you give me more information about this collaboration on the engine? The documentation, news, etc.

The Archer NG initial prototypes will have Austro-330EP 177hp engine later series production will have Jayam automtives 170-180 hp rated heavy fuel engine, hal will be the manufacturers of this UCAV, the main difference will be the composite material usage will be higher than original IAI version Heron TP ( because anti Iceing property), BEL will provide Optonotrics and advanced systems,

Ps: Archer ng will have a automated ecs (with possible MWS)

Thanks for the info on Archer NG. I was asking more about this if you can share any public information on this? news articles etc. Or Is this your personal source?

So ur 100% sure it's upgraded heron in that case it should be getting inducted for sure.

As a first person who said Archer ng is heron mk2, yes it is heron mk2 mod( heron TP) variant not valina heron mk2, to be precise heron mk2 proposed German variant
Heron tp is a much bigger drone. Max take off weight of 5400 kg . Archer ng is 1800 kg.
Vanila heron is 1200-1300 kg.

They may have similar design concepts doesn't make it a copy no more than tedbf is a copy of rafale.
