That may be true but we cannot wait for an ideal condition, we have to work with what we got and in that the govt should at least put the new policies in place which gives the babus the guidelines to work with...something is better than nothing.
Also I believe the defense ministry should go to Gadkari (or may be Ashwini Vaishnav) rather than someone like Rajnath Ji, with due regrds to him. He is a measured and mature leader but I think we need a much more dynamic approach with R&D. But these high end portfolios always land with senior people.
Even Vaishnav is being made fool by railway babus at this juncture only gulag treatment will cure Indian babudom and nothing worth comman sense happens in this country. There was committee on railway it was Mishra or something which said Indian railway buisness should be divided into core and non core(hospitals, resthouse, schools and lot of others things, and lot of untraced land being squatted by Bangladeshi and Rohingya peaceful).where as non -core should be either seller off or given to state goverment or psu .
One other recommendation of Mishra committee was also to bring together all rolling stock and engine making together and create one psu like communist china has done.
to either sell of all fabrication yard (I am not sure about this). Indian railway should only be focused on running the train .

Not a single thing recommended in that committee has impleted as of yet.

No , Ghatak wont have more than 2T with weaker engine than X-47.
2 tons is the capacity of the internal bay . Nothing to do with engine power .
Then again it's not like ADA is gonna outperform the Americans in internal bay design.

Fun fact - Ghatak project is with ADE.

Muahahahahahahahaha

Luckily this time ADE is following conventional flying wing design without major experimental changes unlike Tapas, which had a T-tail and twin prop.
So performance gap between Ghatak and it's peers won't be in the range of 100% and more. My major worry is wrt Kaveri.

The payload of the Archer-NG is up to 300 kg. It has four hard points that gives it the flexibility to carry varied combinations of weapon systems depending on requirements to destroy particular types of targets. One of the weapons with which the Archer-NG will be armed with is the third generation ‘fire and forget’ UAV launched precision guided anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) having a range of four km. The DRDO is planning to develop three more variants of this missile with an extended range of over six km.

The Archer-NG is also likely to be armed with the 125 kg Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon with a range of 100 km. This would enable the Archer-NG to undertake missions to disable enemy airfields and target enemy critical infrastructure and other ground targets with precision strikes. The Archer- NG is also to be armed with laser guided rockets and bombs. In addition, the Archer-NG would also be armed with loitering munitions having a range of 100 km. There are also plans to arm the Archer-NG with a mini cruise missile, to be developed in collaboration with the private sector, for taking on enemy targets at long standoff ranges. All these will make the Archer- NG a potent force multiplier for the Armed Forces.

Archer ng first flying was planned for this year ..now it's delayed

Archer NG is a MALE aircraft flying very slow - not a good platform for SAAW.
Biggest issue with high expensive HALE, MALE is that - they are not good against target defended by SAMS like Airforce base. [excluding 5.5/6th gen stealth drones]

How much you would take out of a 350kg payload. Remember 350kg also includes EO system, SAR, Sigint and other int stuff as well as satcom thingies. At best Archer Ng weaponisation would be like MQ1, 2-4 atgms at best. Weaponisation here is for opportune targets and Archer Ng is not a dedicated weapons platform.
