AN/APS-154.Yes we are the only operator who customized the aircraft. Thats why our are called P8I.
It has IFF and Data Link from BEL.
Only thing it lacks and its something USA has not offered to any one is AN/APS-154.
No.... this is amazing, Ekranoplane revived. So it runs on water basically shaeed for water?

Without CISMOA, The Indian Navy Works The P-8I
The gear on the P-8 platform that was held off as a result of the absence of a CISMOA, are understood to include a Raytheon IFF transponder (Mode IV Crypto), SINCGARS radio, TACTERM/ADVT secure voice (HF) terminals and Rockwell-Collins SATCOM transceivers.
AN/APS-154 is not under CISMOA. It is not a communication device. Also us started to develop this after the deal not before.Well, that’s where the slide above comes into play — it was in a presentation that Boeing made today to a group of us visting journalists in Washington. It illustrates just how the Indian Navy has plugged the CISMOA-induced gaps on the American platform — notably, speech secrecy kit by India’s state-owned Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL), IFF interrogator and transponder by BEL and HAL respectively, mobile satellite system by Avantel and fingerprinting kit by BEL. All very interesting.
Who said AN/APS-154 is under CISMOA ??AN/APS-154 is not under CISMOA. It is not a communication device. Also us started to develop this after the deal not before.
I am just stating that APS-154 is not related to CISMOA.Who said AN/APS-154 is under CISMOA ??
CISMOA comes under the another article, heading also is the link
DRDO also developing AN/APS-154 ?
None that i know of. Even if they did US will not allow it easily to integrate with the aircraft.DRDO also developing AN/APS-154 ?
DRDO developing sonobuoy currently, it is easy to integrate these into TAL than mk54. I don't thing Indian weapon integration is not major issue for US, becz for them P8 is global sales program, like F35.I am not even sure if US will allow india to integrate Torpedo Advanced Light (TAL) Shyena or some anti ship missiles (Like NASM).
something's off about this info,
-reverse image search shows 2006 U.S navy related project.
-latest Idex navy aug 2023 does not have this category.
So I am curious is this radar is going to have 4 arrays (like MF STAR) when installed on a ship or just 2 like the tweet showed.Explained: The Indian Navy' New Game-Changing Radar
The Astra AAAU provides a boost to the Indian's Navy's detecting, locating, and tracking capabilities. Over and above this, its development marks a major step for India being 'atmanirbhar' in defence.swarajyamag.com
Ekranoplane hai bhindi. Dimaag lagaya. So it runs on water basically shaeed for water?
2 cant give 360 coverage, will be weird for it to be just 2So I am curious is this radar is going to have 4 arrays (like MF STAR) when installed on a ship or just 2 like the tweet showed.
Cause 4 36m² radar arrays are going to need a lot of power
That's what I was thinking too but then again ships used to have rotating radars (atleast the secondary ones used to) in the past so I am not entirely sure and that's why I asked2 cant give 360 coverage, will be weird for it to be just 2
Those are much weaker than these, mostly found on frigates. 6m radar means it might be the strongest seafaring radar in production.... No chance it will be rotating. That's what I was thinking too but then again ships used to have rotating radars (atleast the secondary ones used to) in the past so I am not entirely sure and that's why I asked

See it again, its a TD platformThen what are those radar arrays showed in these tweets
