Then why is military intelligence still alive, and what different information will DIA bring in comparison to military intelligence how is DIA going to coordinate with the armed forces at the battlefield (because IDS being a different command means the relationship between IDS and Indian armed forces is not going to be any different from R&AW and Indian military relation)
Wut!?
DIA is MI; it's like asking difference between Earth's satellite and moon.
R&AW is not supposed to deal with tactical threat nor with things like counter-espionage in army; it's either to deal with small petty threats or huge strategic threats. Though in some cases their operations may overlap.

Now as for bringing in DIA under a single IDS command is concerned, then it'll help them acess data more effectively from DCA and DSA and provide their analysis to SRF so that they can engage a target or may be to AFSOD so that they can better prepare an intervention mission.
Why would be strategic missile command be under IDS, SFC is a separate command of its own and is well integrated with NCA, bringing them under IDS doesn't make any sense it would only add to complexity in the command structure.
Again if the current plan of theater command goes all well then all the "weapons" would get assigned to different theatres except for nuclear weapons which would be under military but laying loose from any direct command. It makes sense to club them together with the commands handling space and defence intelligence because those are the most important assets you need to support a nuclear attack.

As for current structure of NCA - SFC, they're effectively the same system. NCA comprises of the upper echelon with all the advisors and SFC the lower echelon with all the military assets. It won't complicate things much if you add IDS in between, rather it'll make more data available to NCA for decision making.
In a country where PMO can get nearly hacked I have little to no hope for our cyberwarfare capabilities, I just hope DCA changes this situation
That's why there's going for a dedicated department. Things are currently in shambles but atleast they've recognised the need.
command structure
See, all these are less focused on changing the command structure and more focused on simply making all different departments sit in a room without bashing each other's heads. Currently the interoperability among various departments are a mess, not to mention all three services trying to cut into each other's funds.

Every reform happening is more or less focused on bunching IA-IAF-IN in one group headed by theater commands. And all the technical elements like space, cyber missile under one group, headed by IDS.

Anyone has any clue about the mini cruse missile mentioned in the article? Are we thinking about a mini astra?
RCI had developed SAAW and is now working on a turbojet powered version of the same. Further, RCI is developing a mini turbojet engine with NAL for UCAVs and LCCM (probably Low Cost Cruise Missile). IMO turbojet powered version of SAAW may be this mini cruise missile/LCCM as that will be smaller (around 2m length) and lighter (around 200-250 kg) to be launched by Archer NG.

Ummnn...it's not that complicated

They saw Spice 250...shouted Eureka and made SAAW
Now when they realised you can put a turbojet in Spice 250 to make Spice 250 ER...ran naked in the streets and now you're going to have SAAW-ER

Actually Spice 250 was a catalyst for development of the SAAW with an EO seeker whose operating principle is similar to that of Spice 2000 used in Balakot airstrikes.

Bruh...they're the literal same thing, even the length, diameter and weight of both are same

And as for EO seeker, Spice 250 has it too

Yes SAAW and spice 250 are same thing because it was a kind of joint development similar to Barak 8/MRSAM. So, there should not be a problem in them being similar.

Are you sure it's a JV? Can't find any source
Almost everywhere it's mentioned as an indigenous project of DRDO.

Moreover Rafael already has a JV with Kalyani for Spice series and they compete with SAAW in Indian market

Not a JV but joint development of product. JV with Kalyani is a joint venture company for production only.

Today, BDL handed over the first RF seeker manufactured at its Kanchanbagh unit to DRDO. The seeker is meant for Akash NG which will form the basic cornerstone of project Kusha.

Project Kusha will also have active seeker variants. Active seeker always wins over semi active. That the 400 40N6 uses only semi active seeker is a wrong nation. There are many variants of this including a DM one which sports an active seeker.

In case of a semi active seeker, the FC and target engagement radar will always have to paint the target which creates a constraint in the no of targets that can be simultaneously engaged.

Then the illuminating radar always has to maintain LOS with the target. If the target ducks behind a physical feature like a hill or goes below the radar horizon, the interceptor missile is effectively dead.

48N6, 9M96 variants and earlier missiles of the PMU-2 barring the 5V55 all used TVM or track via missile which is different from what we know as semi active .

An active seeker enables the missile to be almost fire and forget barring the mid course updates for longer ranges. Like mid course uplink, the actual FCR on the ground in case of a Sam unit can also be jammed and degraded to an extent that it renders the entire unit null and ineffective .

In case of Aegis, they have a seperate illumination radar, AN/SPG-62 for terminal target illumination of the RIM-66 standard 2 missile series. The newer SM-6 uses an active seeker. And the SPG-62 is distinct from the main phased array SPY-1 / SPY-6. SM-3 uses a KV called LEAP. IIR homing. Its for BMD .
