WRONG
The left car has a turret, gun and soldiers on it. The car on the right has two civil employees and none of the other things mentioned before. Hence right car is disqualified. We'll re-review the AoN and call for a new RFI soon for the american car.

70km

90km ones are almost identical to 70km ones in terms of dimensions, so they can be used without any modifications.

The 150km one's are also just slightly bigger so given the size of Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam we can easily add them but ya, some modifications would be needed nonetheless
Range has been increased from the initial 70 km to 90+ km back in 2015-16.

The Indo-Israeli LRSAM/Barak-8 began its first hot trials with the Israeli Navy in May this year. In what could be the single most significant development in the weapon system’s long-drawn journey, the Indian Navy has confirmed to Livefist that the LRSAM will sport an operational range a third higher than initially agreed upon. In effect, the LRSAM’s range now moves from 70-km to in excess of 90-km or higher. Range upgrade discussions took place in November last year following a land test in Israel.
IAI and India’s DRDO missile cluster (led by the DRDL) that have jointly developed the missile system, designated the Barak 8 for Israel and yet to be officially named in India, have begun work on boosting weapon range.
DRDO is responsible for the propulsion module consisting of the two pulse solid rocket motors . So this increase of range is an exclusive DRDO DRDO effort.

And we have an obsession with understating range and payload capability of most of our missiles.

Thanks! There seems to be a lot of confusion about the range. I've seen both the 70km and 90 km number quoted in various sources.

Officially the range is 70km. Though various sources quote 90 - 100km. Even Israel Navy has 70km version Barak-LRAD.

Arre Bhrata Shree...ye to hume bhi gyaat hai

I know that dual-pulse motor is our intellectual property in the JV...infact after this breakthrough in dual pulse technology we got into a frenzy of adding dual pulse in every effing thing. Akash was ramjet but out of nowhere Akash NG became dual pulse, Astra Mk-II became dual pulse. Same for AShM. NGARM too.

You can even find the actual research paper by Dr. Debasish Chakraborty of DRDO on dual pulse technology

The confusion is regarding what's what (1) MRSAM, LRSAM, MRAD, ERAD, Barak-8 ER, Barak ER and (2) what variant is fielded by Navy and what by land based launchers.

Barak-8, MRSAM , LRSAM are one and the same missile. Now here's the interesting part. Azerbaijan and UAE has the original 70 km ranges Barak-8. Azerbaijan also has the ER version with the booster.

Since DRDL has IP rights of the propulsion module, for which IAI has to pay royalty fees to us and source this part from us according to the initial workshare agreement, IAI developed a whole new line of modular Sam based on Indo Israeli JV Barak-8 which is the Barak MX family. This family's ER is distinctly different from the original Barak-8 ER . And as of now we don't have the ER variant of Barak-8.

Our Barak-8 doesn't have any wings while MX family has a brand new airframe with wide chord low aspect ratio wings.

And regarding 40 km range of AAD, its against 1500 km class targets. For BM with 1000 kms or lesser ranger, this range increases. For some context, 48N6 series with 250 km range against aircrafts(again simplistic- range varies with speed, target alt and geometry and whether it's manuevering) has a 40-45 km range against BM. So the newer AAD, or AAD version 2.0 with nose mounted canards have a range of 200+ km against acs.
