Is tht remote turret ?
The image is of very poor quality but it looks like there are two objects on both sides of the central structure so I'd guess one's an ammo box and other's a sight assembly...so it can be a RWS
M2 browning or NSV
We don't have sufficient numbers of NSVs. NSV or NSVT to be more precise were manufactured because of the Russian tanks we were making other than that there has been only a handful of them that are used by army and BSF in their firing posts.
The number of M2 are even lesser.

As an army we were never into heavy machine guns for infantry like you see with M2 in US army. The only support weapon we had used to be CGRL and 51/60mm mortars. And also a handful of Russian automatic grenade launchers. It's quite similar to how we as an army never took the concept of snipers seriously.

CRPF

Army is supposed to use proper BMP-2 turret in WhAP
I don't understand CRPF major role are riot control and COIN ops in Kashmir. They can put RCWS on top of MPV's and do the same role, they don't need to waste money and does not need much armor fr Kashmir as Jiahadis there don't have anything more than Ak47 and grenades which MPVs r more than capable to handle. They can give the WHAP variant to BSF or SSB where it will be much more useful in border areas.

"Why should Army have all the fun!?"

Anyways, they won't procure any big numbers of these, only a few. Maybe somewhere in Chattisgarh or Kashmir it can come handy

Fun fact.

Often those sort of AI decisions are like our superstitions. It may have shot the towers or killed the operator in some iteration of the simulation & found that it got higher points... so now it does that everytime.
Machine learning doesn't necessarily know why it ends up with more points that way, but it knows that it will end up with more points that way. So it'll do that.
AI can't see operator as the boss, but as a variable in the equation that's giving inputs. It doesn't serve us, AI serves itself (ie it's purpose to generate output most efficiently).

Malicious compliance (or AI going rogue) is thus a bug, unforeseen circumstances for programmer
So they have to input in that that killing the operator or destroying the communication or incapacitating the operator in any way will result in huge loss of points and will destroy the AI. We have to teach the AI that hurting or impairing the operator in any way will be detrimental to the AI. In other words, put the fear of God into the AI if AI dares to think about hurting the operator in any way.

Why use AI?
Helps with managing low retention of human personnel. As societies move to below the 2.2 TFR threshold, they become very reluctant to allow their children to enroll in military/paramilitary forces unless those forces can show that they can protect their soldiers to a high degree.

If the falling TFR phenomenon spreads to the rest of the world, we will see hi tech wars being fought by robots, drones, and AI and the humans will sit out on the sidelines seeing which side win and submits to the winning side without any casualties. This is my prediction - the world will become casualty averse to the extent that all future wars would be fought by AI, robots, & drones.

Sorry to break your hearts but...
...that whole story of AI killing the operator and then killing the communication tower was all kinda fake. Do you really think that an AI that can be constrained to small nuances like not saying the N-word would be given so much of free space like killing the operator or communication tower?
Even non-AI, basic automation systems like CIWS stop as soon as their traverse or elevation comes in the way of the ship...and here this kind of advanced AI won't be taught that? Perhaps blue on blue prevention would be the very first thing that's taught
