I think once we have tested AD-1 and AD-2 from Ship we may finally start work on our UVLS.

Nope...we still have a long way to go before we get our UVLS.
How? The most recent missile to get integrated on ship was VL-SRSAM and they went with all the pains of developing a dedicated VLS from ground up for it instead of making a quad-module for existing Barak launcher. So it's going to take time

We tested a effing BMD from a ship and there's hardly 5-6 post about it...you all seem more interested in whether 200gm explosive is good or 1.5kg

Only three such unique systems exist as of now and only five countries have developed them...
France - Italy = Aster-30
US of M = Aegis
Russia - China = S-300

There are so many questions. What VLS are we using? Which design it is? Based on existing AD-1/2 lineage or completely new? Explosive or KE?

And you all want loitering munitions

What I meant was that it was much more than a grenade, since you had said it was a "grenade-worth of explosives". But just pointed out that it wasnt enough for anti armour stuff.

grenades are mostly around 200gms of explosive, rest is metal for fragmentation.

Though I think this could benefit from having a HEDP warhead, that way the HEAT part can be useful for disabling artillery and all, seeing as in the current war many times standard HE might kill the crew but doesnt harm the artillery much.

Soviet S-300PMU1/PMU2 is same as Chinese HQ9; that's why I counted them as one unique system

Afaik there will be a UVLM for all current & future drdo missiles
Will fructify once enough baseline missiles are cleared for production

NGD most probably will have a UVLM

Thing is except for MRSAM / brahmos no other indigenous missiles in production so difficult to firm up the specs for UVLM, so will happen eventually

So no point loosing sleep over it

BrahMos being such a humongous missile and that too with cold launch was more than sufficient to be baseline for UVLS...but we did nothing

Although I think AD2 might be larger than Brahmos, maybe a reason, one could always hope.

Most probably the SLS of the INS Anvesh.

Only the AD-1 has been tested. AD-2 is still under fabrication. First we will see the ground based test then we will move towards naval testing.

IMO, the AD-1 and AD-2 are only meant for the NGD. Though I really wish the P-15A,B also get these.

It is just my hunch but I think all the P-15A/B and P-17A/AU will only get the Program LRSAM missiles coupled with MRSAM to provide 2-layered protection .

While the NGD will form and provide the naval BMD network.

Sometimes I wish so hard of having some young blood in our defence organisation, especially DRDO. Really sick of these old scientists
Just imagine the sight of having young scientists in DRDO who also seem to have a keen interest for a certain game called WarThunder. Life of people like us on DFI would have been so much easier. No need to guess mechanisms, or speculate dimensions...

Given how our babus have gifted information to Pakistani honey trappers, I don't think we need to infiltrate DRDO for some dimensions...
