Missiles are expensive but guarantees a kill
So does a 105mm APFSDS round, especially against lighter targets such as the Type 15, and it costs a fraction of a missile. Not that I don't see your point. What I'm saying is that a combination of both systems is needed. Anyway, I think they should have opted for an unmanned turret with a bustle mounted autoloader. That way, the armor would have to be concentrated only on the front of the hull.

Up to what range? Can it top-attack?

105mm APFSDS is a fine round that can ruin any MBTs day, even if not a kill then a mission kill for sure...but the problem is there won't be any traditional armoured warfare up at that altitude with virtually no cover whatsoever.

No and it doesn't have to, considering the type of opfor it's expected to face.

Indeed. That's why I said we need both systems - the light tanks for direct fire support for the infantry and (and engaging enemy armored targets at line-of-sight ranges) and the loitering munitions for taking out armored targets at longer distances.

So this 250 is in addition to 120 ordered earlier?

Pralays are one of the most important missiles in our arsenal. Its range will cover most hardened Cheeni airbases in tibet. Does anyone know the production cost and rate for 1 pralay missile? The american version of this (ATACMS) costs roughly $1 million per missile and an annual production rate of 200 ATACMS with an option to surge to 320/year as of 2019. Its replacement, the PrSM , will cost $1.2 million

I always wanted to ask one question about this tank.....how the f**k is it Indigenous, if we are importing a whole turret ??
Who issued the RFI? And RFP? Who's going to pay such hefty amount? The container in which the turret will arrive would bear a line something like "shipped to...", what do you think, what name would be there? Same for the engines.

C'mon mate, appreciate our efforts

Should be roughly similar to the ATACMS, might be marginally more expensive at $2-3 million per missile.

It's very; read almost impossible, hard to calculate the per unit price of even basic Indian missiles let alone a ballistic missile. Trust me, I've once tried and it was a PITA.

But given how it's specs are even better than ATACMS, I think it's going to be priced in the same ballpark
