LoL, you are comparing a MALE drone to a HALE drone, apples to oranges comparison.
The IAI Heron fleet operational across all three services is simply not enough and will need replacement in the near future and that is where the Tapas Bh-201 and Archer-NG slot in.
The unit cost of the Tapas Bh-201 is pegged at Rs.40-45 crore, about half of the options that can be imported from abroad.

Tapas Bh-201 is needed for the Armed Forces Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) needs.

One can get 3x Tapas Bh-201 for the price of a single MQ-9 Reaper, obviously in a one to one comparison Tapas is inferior to the MQ-9 but at the end of the day numbers do matter.
