Thats true, the forum has deteriorated beyond recognitionThis thread used to be a source of news and analysis. Now it's 75% juvenile rants, rhetoric, & hyperbole, along with a few black-pilled trolls pretending to be know-it-all experts.

Nowhere in the world actual guns are used for benchmarking of cartridges coz then you would be having way too many factors...short stroke guns will perform differently than delayed blowback one, same AR-15 from two manufacturers will perform differently. So ultimately it becomes more of a gun's benchmark test rather than a cartridge.
So what all ammunition manufacturers and R&D personnel use all over the world is what's know as a "Mann gun or mann set-up". You've four parts, a target for terminal ballistics. A chronograph for velocity. A pressure probe for offcourse pressure. And perhaps the most interesting; an "universal receiver gun"...

...a single gun that can fire everything from .17 to 14.5mm.
You either (1) use this method to test ammunition or you (2) fire the ammunition form the gun you produced to check for the gun's benchmarks.
Never do you just wake up one morning and randomly select M16A4s from 50s of available rifles all over the world to use it as benchmark. It seems some local distributor has made a good fool out of them by selling surplus US M16s at 2.1lakh.
you are expecting ofb govt Babu's to know so much ? tch tch tchGood stuff, didn't knew about it !
In that case, I have no idea why OFB would want M16A4s
Can anyone explain why this clusterfk of DAC and CCS , two levels of babudom (maybe more) are reqd ? Why not just one window where all requests are cleared or rejected ? It's like passing files frome one desk to other in a sarkari babu office

Ya'll Nibbiars That's the Kargil Comitte recommendation, Atal Bihari Vajpee government was on that path unil the MS happened, and only in 2009 the budget was increased to that level, but after that a decline in the percentage. Current PM need to sheed the Vishwaguru mode.If this happens additional 20-30 billion USD a year for procurement :

Its a misconception that tracks are needed for higher mobility to support tanks. Why r they replacing IFV with an APC? especially when tracks r better suited fr the rough terrain and provide support to tanks. WHAP should replace the trucks carrying soldiers to the frontline not BMP2s.
