Ever thought how does IP flow in our nation, from Gov funded research to Private Firms, Private Firms giving their inputs to DRDO, Uni research proliferating into Commercial use etc.?

Wouldn't a national RFI website do wonders for the local Industries.
Two entities can share IP on agreement.
This actually a very weak link for us . Some prof in a PSU or college might come up with some innovation but nothing comes out of it as there is no next step .. hardly anyone will follow up to commercialise hence the researchers just keep pumping out papers with no actual work happening. Our pvt companies on the other hand will happily import already commercialised tech.from abroad.
Example being some research team may come up with an innovative battery cell but no investor will put money in to bring this to market.

probably because new tech will require more money for further research until it can be commercialised and even then nothing may come out of it . do we have that kinda money for R&D ?

there is also question of fakus , funniest story i seen is a kerala engineer developing a engine for bike that runs on water.

This the crux of why nibbs with ambition to innovate go abroad.
Speaking of kerela engineers
I know for a fact that these nibbs were on the radar of Indian oil .. but nothing came out off to this.

If innovators don't get backing it will always be nothing.. like I said Indian oil were working with them it was a engine efficiency project . But it's not like any of our car companies were interested . Heck they could have made a decent genset .. but alas.
