Aha! now I got my hypothesis correct, it's a modified Iskander with just pure solid fuel rocket motor. You are right. so what about those red thingy infront of it's nose cone?
These are conformal sensors for either GLONASS, proximity type fuzes, datalink etc

All of this will fall flat if our armed forces don't show interest in indegenoin product, won't say this is a bad idea now.

All I will say-Dont count your eggs before they hatch.
Well, things won't change in a jiffy, and not at all if everyone stops trying.

As for our own forces not showing interest in indigenous products. Well, it is a sad reality which is changing for better. GoI is supporting indigenous products and various indigenous products which were lingering for long are making inroads now. After the breakthrough in Tejas program, Arjun Mk-2 is also expected to be inducted soon and in numbers.

Apart from these, there are various weapon systems which are satisfactorily serving services. These cutting-edge systems namely Pinaka Mk-1 & 2, Akash Mk-1, Brahmos and now Astra Mk-1 etc have huge potential everywhere if marketed properly. And if GoI is taking steps towards I see reasons for being optimistic.

Nevertheless, India has doubled its export 2016 from 2013. With the number of weapons joining the list and GoI taking proactive steps India is to see a major surge in Defence export. I am sure about it.

Give me one good reason for this hypothesis.
Ballistic missiles are those that travel in ballistic trajectory with little maneuvering and minimal course correction. A plane typically travels at 1 Mach speed and a BM launched from it will not have a fully known initial position. Each millisecond difference in launch time can alter the initial position. Also, the initial speed is not a constant. So, the requirements for travelling in ballistic trajectory is flouted. Hence BM can't be fired accurately by a plane

Government inks Rs 639 crore deal for 1.86 lakh new bullet-proof jackets for infantry soldiers
NEW DELHI: The Army’s ordinary infantry soldiers are now finally going to get some desperately-needed modern bullet-proof jackets + under a Rs 639 crore contract inked on Monday, even though they remain some distance away from getting new assault rifles, close-quarter battle carbines and light-machine guns.
The Army said the major contract for procurement of 1,86,138 bullet-proof jackets(BPJs) has been signed with domestic private company SMPP Pvt. Ltd after successful conduct of stringent field evaluation trials.

“The contracted BPJs have contemporary and state-of-the-art specifications with added protection level and coverage area. These ergonomically designed BPJs have modular parts, thereby providing immense protection and flexibility to soldiers operating in different operational situations ranging from long-distance patrolling to high-risk room intervention scenarios,” said an officer.

“The new BPJs will provide 360 degree protection to soldiers in combat, including from latest hard steel core bullets,” he added. As per the contract, SMPP will start the supply of the BPJs within the next few months and complete the entire order within a period of three years.

“The new jackets meet the most advanced GSQRs 1438 (technical parameters) standards of the Indian Army. These BPJs have `Boron Carbide Ceramic’, which is the lightest material for ballistic protection,” said SMPP chairman S C Kansal.

The 1.3-lakh strong Army’s overall requirement for 3,53,765 new BPJs has been hanging fire for almost a decade now, while its soldiers make do with old bulky ones that provide poor protection and are near the end of their operational life.

Several parliamentary committees have taken an extremely dim view of this “critical shortage” of BPJs, slamming the government for “playing with the lives” of soldiers

As was first reported by TOI, the earlier proposed contract for new 1.86 lakh modular BPJs was scrapped in October 2015 because the samples offered by six vendors “failed” to clear the field trials.

The Army, in March 2016, had then gone in for the Rs 140 crore “emergency” procurement of 50,000 BPJs with older technical parameters from Tata Advanced Materials Limited.

This time, the contract for BPJs with advanced technical parameters has been inked. The Army wanted the new light-weight jackets to adequately protect the head, neck, chest, groin and sides of the foot-soldiers as well as allow them to move with greater agility during counter-insurgency operations in “unfriendly terrains”.

On the right side BFSR-SR with both optronics and radar sensor telescopic mast mounted on a light vehicle for utilization in observation and reconnaissance role. It will be a good addition to lorros.

IA also operates mast mounted lorros (long range observation and reconnaissance system) optronics sensors for observation and reconnaissance role

Interesting upgrade of BMP 2

View attachment 24118

On the left is the commanders Panaromic sight.

Can't figure out the thing on the right side before the empty atgm launcher rail.
Looks some kind of optics/sight, maybe gunners sight ?
Is this from DRDO?

On the left is the commander’s sight which looks to be mounted on an extendable mast to raise it up, on the right is the gunner’s sight. This is pretty much the setup seen on the NAMICA.

Yes it is from DRDO

My personal opinion,
namica setup is different it is fixed (not raisable) and it utilizes compass derivative as the sensors , one for the commander and one for the gunner .
Also me thinks their capabilities are higher.

BMP 2 optronics

the commanders Panaromic sight is the Arjun's commanders Panaromic sight. And it looks to be mast mounted and raisable (personal opinion)

DHANUSH 155x52mm mounted gun system (MGS)

View attachment 24194
This is AWESOME

1) is this 45 or 52? I expect the former but hope for the latter. IA wants MGS to be 155/52
2) is this OFB’s own effort or part of their JV with BAE?
3) would really like to see this on an Indian truck (Nexter mounted 155/52 CEASAR on a 6x6 AL truck)

155x52mm

OFB and BEML , initial prototype only , production version will be different and totally refined.

Really 52? Have OFB test fired Dhanush-52 yet?

BEML involvement means they have to use TATRA only, there’s no scope for an Indian truck?
