This isn't modified PDV as I claimed, but Rudra M-III Hypersonic Air Launched Ballistic Missile with launch weight of 1.6 tons and diameter of 0.5m.

Each MKI will carry 3 Rudra M-III just like Brahmos NG which too weighs 1.6 tons

I got a little confusion. How a air launched Ballistic missile is different from a long range air to surface missile?

Every Air Launched Ballistic Missiles (ALBM) are Air to Surface Missiles (ASM) but not all Air to Surface Missiles are Air Launched Ballistic Missiles.

Air to Surface Missile includes Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM), Gravity Bomb, Gliding Bomb, PGMs as well.

HAL had stated that they could develop amphibian style aircraft with relative ease.

It will be based on DO-228 frame if it happens.
