Why do you want to give IAF a heart attack? Till now they are not relenting on medium lift heptrs for the Army. Won't change until IMRH at least. Fixed Wing jets in IA is certainly not happening on the IAF's watch. What is more, IA is literally trying to modernize on a shoe-string budget. They can't afford adding even more new capabilities when existing ones are lacking modernization funds.

Private sector startups are the ones taking R&D seriously. The conglomerates seem more interested in peddling foreign wares in India. Lets wait a little though, because this behaviour could also be driven by the end user not inspiring confidence that they will actually place orders.

After 5 years, and numerous trials there is not a sight of a complete manportable atgm !
It seems a farce tbh
