Honestly while watching this video I thought it is a good effort but it is a bit too late, developing and producing this UAV will at least take us 5-7 years and we need it NOW, I would honestly prefer if adopt the Heron TP in numbers. It has the endurance , loiter time , sufficiently large payload and most importantly it is ready NOW.

The Tapas UAV can serve our recon needs and the Heron TP can takeover the armed drone role for the armed forces.

The ADE on the other hand should focus on developing a stealthy turbofan powered HALE drone on the line of the general atomics Avenger(pic below) which will be relevant in the future and also because frankly there aren't many options in the world market and its cost prohibitive if we try buying it from USA.

I believe our developmental experience and the building blocks created with the Tapas UAV program and our other projects in the works should give us enough confidence to undertake this project

My first point is why develop that when work on flying wing UCAV is already going on and it would be better than any conventional wing design UCAV, why waste resources.
And wouldn't Hal newspace upscaled warrior uav powered by twin htfe-25 be better for this if a cheap peer to peer ucav is required. And a turbofan HALE UAV is already in development.

The only advantage that I can think of that a conventional wing design provides over a flying wing design will be the endurance / loiter time which is the top priority during recon mission and being stealthy and HALE type can give better protection against the advanced air defenses of our adversary.

Drones like Tapas, Heron TP, Akinci etc will be sitting ducks for these air defenses, but for the time being these are required .

Lol, ToT, did goras made us fools again by saying ToT??
This is very bad.
All dealings need to be transparent. Revealing what ToT is received is not detrimental to national security.

This was the same BS used by Pakistani establishment to obscure the terms of CPEC.

Transparency is the key for any successful government.

Why are you so eager to know the secret deal?

If it impacts National Security than why it must be revealed?

Some times your comments are very suspicious in nature.

Stop it.

This was expected just when we are finally close to developing good indigenous drones on our own...remember the adani-lal meeting
I think it's not about mq-9 as that's not very complex tech or development which he can't reveal
I think either it's about engine or help in tech related to ac or some critical components of mq-9 like sensors or it's engine
Only speculations

US is just too paranoid, they think we are still in 1971 and trying to bring communist revolution in India.

IMO this is regarding MQ-9 only, they are probably fooling us in the name of some secretive sensor technology as quid-pro-quo such that we stop bitching about F-16 upgrade plan to Pakistan.

It seems like an excellent plan in the civil sector, but the warfare domain is fought on surprise and deception. For example, we bought Mig-25s in absolute secrecy and Pakistan had no clue until it roared above Islamabad.

Revealing what is being sold/bought can harm not only the receiver but also the seller. For example, under MCTR, Russia cannot sell us any missile above 300 km range, yet they liberally sold us BrahMos with more than 600km range. Revealing such information (original range, pricing, details, etc.) will jeopardize both parties.

This is very very very very very very good development. Actually I have an inside scoop on this:-

On a serious note, I think @mist_consecutive is right. Its the Reaper. Not something that will "affect the balance of power in the region", as the Americans would say.

Agreed. But MiG-25 was secret because it was secret. Not because some Defence Minister was announcing "I got a jar of dirt and guess what is inside it!" in a singsong voice on National TV.
