Destroyers yeah dude. And not Russian, but Ukrainian - Zorya powerplants. That is all set to change though - P18s will have MT30.These are going to be responsible for BMD of entire Japan. And with only two ships proposed, they'll have to rotate so that only one ship will be on station at a time. Binkov's analysis that these might be moved to defend Senkaku or even Guam is misplaced. India doesn't need such ships as our primary BMD is land-based and Next Gen vessels equipped with AD-1 and AD-2 will suffice for ship-based BMD tasks.
Just for reference, INS Dhruv is 15,000 tons. Without the VLS.
It was news for me because I remember reading about how are destroyers all use Russian GT and gearboxes.
Whenever I see the term 'private' yada yada solution for all things, my mind now automatically assumes that person as braindead, there are a tons of nuances involved which people simply ignore but then again this is the order of day, people just throw words which they hear from somewhere and when you ask them what they exactly understand about it, their whole expertness and opinionated view comes crashing down like a chinese tofu dreg building. It must be in ISRO thread, but I'm posting it here because I think it should be here
"PSU's worst vro, they can't do a shit vro, give to Private company vro, they will do it in a single day vro"
How does this makes sense, ordering see through armour from 3 firms, is this for trials leading to bigger order?
Our private sector has not reached that level . May be with in a period of 5-10 year we can expect private company to launch observation satellites. (Talking about skyroot) . Isro has it's own commercial wing (new space ) . We ll see more private collaboration in future .It must be in ISRO thread, but I'm posting it here because I think it should be here

Fitting a Vintage BMP with see through armour tech gives me a feeling of Tun Tun coming out with a silicone surgery..
This is a part of phased upgrades of bmp which will happen in faster paceFitting a Vintage BMP with see through armour tech gives me a feeling of Tun Tun coming out with a silicone surgery..
My guess is this is going to be a 3-way competition between Tonbo Imaging, Big Bang Boom and Dimensions NXG.How does this makes sense, ordering see through armour from 3 firms, is this for trials leading to bigger order?
Once again we have old gen plate carriers, I think we will always be 20-30 yrs behind in infantry kit
This be more true for the old ones but the new ones are more daring and persistent.@I dont know why Indian Pvt companies are sort of messiah who will speed things up in R&D and production. Face it mate majority of our Indian companies in manufacturing do not invest much in r7d. They don't have mental fortitude nor patience to absorb failures and carry on research till fructation
Adani has yet to show something in terms of investing in R&D. Adani is growing horizontally(by aquisitions). So did Mahindra(remember Gipps Aeropspace?) How much he shall sustain or he will nurture -Only time will tell. Our style of micro management with penny pinching does not do wonders for r&d. (Kalyani,L&T, small but niche tech companies like TONBO,ASTRA are few glimmers of hope)This be more true for the old ones but the new ones are more daring and persistent.
At the same time we talk smack about the likes of adani who are taking a risk to foray into competitive sectors.
Adani is a trader. He buys existing technology and product from other countries and sells them in India.Adani has yet to show something in terms of investing in R&D. Without orders nothing is going to happen. Tonbo had the see through armour since 2016 how many have been ordered till date. Bharat Forge how many orders have they got for the variety of guns.
