How will removing FBW reduce cost of aircraft?
We still need sensors and actuators fro control surfaces.
The flight control surfaces are controlled by hybrid electro-hydraulic actuators and motors. These will be still needed along with cabling and power source.
Their is no mechanical redundancy so how will one control these actuators and motors if FBW removed. Even in case the FBW removed one has to pay for all the hardware.

It is making no sense removing best features lof Tejas like auto low-speed recovery, disorientation recovery function, autopilot, take-off & landing assist, return home feature and in future automated take-off & landing.
this all said by HAL chairman , in investor conference call .

u can find recording here. its around past 40 mark . its where the osint guy got it from.

:lehappy: maybe chairman was just feeding investors copium.

WTF is this? This isn't the DRDO ADFCR Atulya? Why are we buying Israeli ADFCR? AFAIK, Atulya ADFCR is for AAAs. What is this Israeli ADFCR for then?

Israeli radars are for iai skycapture system bought by IA which is upgrade for 40mm AA guns , atulya for legacy zsu-23 and possibly for newer ak-630 land based ciws

Redundancy isn't an issue. Conventional ones are cheap and sometimes more reliable . Its just that they are difficult to inspect and maintain. you have to rip apart the whole aircraft structure to inspect those cables. 747 is a perfect example. sometimes it takes a week just to remove all those panels.

So, apparently IA has asked for GPMG with Day and night sight and process is in advanced stages, any idea what it could be, it can't be the mag bcoz it's nomenclature is MMG in IA. The number is small so most probably these are for para sf. I guess Negev 7 is the likely contender.

Another thing is army acquisition wing is asking for a clip on TI sight for .338 sniper rifle. All cool but when did we have 1121 sniper lapua Magnum in Indian service. I am quite sure we have at best 200 sniper pieces including pieces from sf, or more likely around 100 in .338 ammo.
So why are they already trying to count the chicken before egg hatches. Does it mean the bigger sniper deal for some 5000+ sniper is soon coming to conclusion if it is still going or are we going to see a refloat of tender.
Any idea someone?

Negev 7 for GPMP.

We have been quietly procuring .338 Lapuas and SSS Defence gun might be the one that will be ordered in large numbers.

Clarify 'quietly procuring'. Are they different from a few below 100 pieces of victrix .338 emergency import and the para sf sako rifles?

True or fake people?
In the 20th teajs ? Which number are we on ?

LRDE has confirmed that Uttam AESA radar is 95% indigenous, with only one imported subsystem that has a search range of over 100km and can track a range of 50 targets with the ability to engage 4 targets at once. Uttam Mk1 will be seen from 20th Tejas Mark IA fighter jet and will have 780 Transmitter and Receiver Modules (TRM).

For everyone wondering what subsystem we are importing :
We would be importing the cooling subsystem from Israel. It will be used dissipate heat generated from TR Module.
