Well we have some like automated L-70 Guns . All SAM systems tested by DRDO claim they can take down MALE and HALE Drones.

For now, Swarm drone can't be operated from 100s of km away. You need to go close, may be very close. Enemy can take down whole operation unit before Drones will get airborne.

Maybe we need complete self ban on all imports in defence sector. Fight with what you have, should be the motto.

I think apart from the ingrained thinking that foreign products are better, I think these people lace self confidence too.
It could be that they are creating too many impediments to ensure that in case of eventualities, they can turn back and say, see... we told you it was an inferior platform.
If only you poor people had worked harder and bought us more expensive planes, we wouldn't have to say things like "we will fight with what we have"

Why would we need Derby I ER when we have the 80-110 km Astra mk1 and mk2 and mk3 are waiting on the wings to be inducted within the next few years?

The original Derby has a 55 km range while the I ER has a 100+ km range .
