no, SANT should be different from helina not only in range but also in many aspect or why do you think they named it SANT and not Helina mk2?
I just hope all the three get inducted and increase the firepower and presitige of Indian attack hepter fleet.
Hmm yes ur right about that they could have named it helina mk2

This video explains it to an extent

DRDO is also working on similar stuff (AI for target recognition). Although I remember they were doing it for IIR, not sure if it was for TV.
Wonder if this will work against the MCS camouflage and multispectral camoflage paint that DRDO has developed for Indian tanks.

T-90 wearing DRDO MCS:-

BTW, from this same thread:-

^Now imagine what even a rudimentary CRAM system will do to this drone if it tries first blind shot and then corrected shot shenannigans in its area. Tanks will eventually evolve to tackle these threats nicely. And CRAM and EW systems will have to be deployed to tackle swarms of such drones. Still difficult in an urban environment though.
We could use this against maoists.

Indian army is prohibited to operate inside Indian territory (with few exception) let alone use heavy weapons.
This is the reason we have dictated COIN police force.
It will also be bad PR and a field day for enemy propaganda machines.
IA is not a police force, its job is to win wars.

My question is how are we gonna integrate it in our modern destroyers
I first thought it will be a compact system
Resolution of the image is too low to accurately figure the type of VLS.
VL-SRSAM is a compact system but when you cluster a group of missiles together their VLS will appear much bigger.
Whether it will be used in future warships not todays
Can someone suggests ?
VL-SRSAM will first be installed on ships fielding Barak-1. VL-SRSAM will upgrade Barak-1.
When new ships (fielding Barak-8) come for midlife refit their is a plan to add VL-SRSAM on these ships.

Ships designed from hereon now also will field VL-SRSAM is constraints permits.

True. The titanium for this was mined, refined, processed, cast, forged and is now being machined all in India. Was unachievable even 10 years ago.
The Titanium was supplied in the form of Slabs by Midhani. There were news reports in 2021 saying that Midhani had delivered 5 titanium slabs for AMCA's TD's construction.

Since its meant to replace Barak 1, I would assume it to be 32 VLS cells since majority of IN ships fitted with Barak 1 for point defence have 32 VLS cells

Look at the collection of Drones Iran have...Sometimes is think Iran is way ahead than India in India in Defence..
In niche categories like drones and cheap missiles yes but all in all they are way behind the curve in other areas.

India has a booming aerospace industry producing helicopters fighter jets engines radars in house while iran simply possess no such capabilities.

Similarly we are busy producing aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines whill they have failed to transition above Corvettes.

So yea all in all they are way behind the curve technology wise.

IMO Mobile AD System for Vertically Launched-Short Range Surface To Air Missile (VL-SRSAM)

Comprises of a 4 celled vertical launch system (VLS) which is capable of hot launch

One of the unique feature of this system is - dedicated reloading crane is not required for reloading

If you check our IA and IAF behavior over the decades they don't put significant interest in drones for a long time. We are just happy with IAI Searcher and IAI Heron.

But now the importance is known now we are getting different drones from both State owned and private players.

Having huge drones not going to work. Need brain and smartness to use these machines. Which india has. India way ahead in terms of defence.
