Any source ? They recently got a re-order from Army which would state otherwise.
I'll refrain from sharing the source (**trust me bro vibes**).
They even said that reorder was given because of some commitments and that they had to 'hold their decision' infront of MoF if they ask why they went with it's purchase if it wasn't upto mark.

It is becoming a standard loadout of Rudra to carry 2x-Rocket pods and 2x-Helina pods. Is Helina already inducted or what ?
I don't think so bro
These atgms are not so strategic that they would induct it secretly without those lengthy procedures
I think maybe they re training themselves as in future they might get it
@Chinmoy do u have idea what has happened to namica wasn't it cleared by ccs

Do you have a hint about "what" is exactly the issue about ?

I will say "holding to their commitment" argument doesn't seem valid because otherwise, they could have ordered them all in one single batch. The sole reason of limited orders, then bulk orders is to test and verify.

Anyway, I won't shoot the messenger. However, it is not unexpected for 1st series prototype to underperform, given they are just an amateur drone startup. What Switch ideally should do is recall back the UAVs and rectify the issues.

Regarding switch UAV, i guess most common cause could be stability/ controllability in high wind conditions. The drone seems too light to be operated in distances in those kind of heights or production quality control.issues. But then its my guess. But i hope aemy does not shrug off the vendor should come forward and provide alternative while they parallelysearch for solution. Both MoF and Army will have amend their procedures to keep allowance for new experimental inductions. Private sector on other gand should own up issues and work towards solution, instead of skirting away.

If its qc , there maybe a relatively easy remedy. But if no qc issues are reported , but its more of design issue, it sure brings quetions in mind over what kimd of trials were conducted.

Varunastra HWT or Russian HWT?
View attachment 159574
Definitely not Varunastra and not the new electric torpedo with wire guidance as they have screw propellers.
From the looks of pumpjet propulsion, not Russians as their electric torpedos are also screw propellers. We don't operate
Most probably Takshak thermal HWT, looks very similiar to it, perhaps test pic. If this is new then talks of scrapping Takshak hwt were wrong.
Or maybe if IN have Russian UGST in inventory, then surely it's Russian torpedo.

Except Brahmos and Aakash missiles, there isn't any significant reserves with India to fight a war like in Ukraine simply because politi doesn't seem to warrant it.
They are still in Hindi-Chini bhai bhai mode...I promise you China has 10:1 strategic missile reserves that we have since they are preparing for Taiwan/Japan and US confrontation.

We'll get hit and then start scrambling like in wave 2 COVID.
Suffer losses and then have face-saving of some sort then scream on next rally how we managed it despite the circumstances...I see no way that not happening if a war breaks out.
True, this is the scenario i am most worried about.
At least the situation is improving. We had less then 10(I) of war wastage reserves 6-7 years ago, i.e. ammunition for less than 10 days. Now we have already achieved 15(I) and are pushing towards the long term target of 40(I) WWR.

Remember, the target had been reduced to 20(I) after Kargil, so 40(I) is an upgrade/climb-back to 1980s levels of WWR. With private ammunition manufacturers booming in India, also with Reliance entering the fray, the only limiting factors would be indigenization and Army's pathetic procurement budget.

The question we need to ask ourselves, however, is this: Given that we've recently seen a protracted conflict between Russia and Ukraine stretching 110 days and still ongoing, what will we do in a similar scenario. Ofcourse we are Nuclear, so in our case war might not stretch on as neither side will overcommit. But what if, for example, the Chinese do overcommit? Even if we reach 40(I) WWR, what happens on the 41st day of heavy combat? (I do remember that there were three reserves: 1st line, 2nd line and WWR, so the actual amount might be more than 40 days worth, but still not anywhere close to 110 days). For small arms, we might be able to ramp up production, but what about long lead time munitions like ATGM, SAM, etc? Should then there be a case for maintaining larger stocks than 40(I) of missiles specifically?

As for SSM specifically, Gen Rawat had hinted that they are coming up with an "Indian Rocket Force". Although I am not too fond of this idea (could have just done so by adding more missile regts in arty), maybe it could mean we see our stocks of SSM grow drastically. Sounds counterintuitive, but isn't it going to make procurement case stronger when 15 BrahMos Missile Regts have less than 5 days of ammo than when 3 BrahMos Regts have 25 days worth?
Won't still be close to what PLARF stocks would likely be, but it could be better than now. Although, like with other reforms, news of this "Indian Rocket Force" is also non existent after Gen Rawat's untimely demise.

found this bit in june drdo newsletter....drdo working on RF decoys for stratigic missiles?

View attachment 159008
Its a talk. Means they have already been working on it for a while. Most likely its already developed and deployed seeing as there was once news of an AAD BMD test where it was able to distiinguish between decoys and actual warhead during the interception. AAD has an RF seeker so the decoy was likely RF decoy.

@TCLKanpur
has released an EoI to seek willingness of Indian Vendors to participate in the Make-II Category for prototype development of 05 pairs and subsequent procurement of 50 pairs of Boot Multipurpose for High Altitude Areas.

As early as 2019, there was a CAG report lamenting how no private vendors are ready to make Cold Weather Gear for HAA and SHAA. Then we had Galwan next year and had to import clothing from US military stocks. Hopefully these new efforts will work. So-called "largest mountain warfare force" dosen't have indigenous industry to even make our winter clothes....sad.

Have they displayed their pumps yet? That is what I am looking forward to right now.

Some are SO eager to ensure royalties get paid to foreign OEMs

maybe one of these days BEML will get around to putting the steering wheel on the Tatra on the right
Nice snark. You can go back and check all my posts, I am usually one of the most ardent advocates of indigenization on this forum.
My point is not the bloody steering wheel. Rather it is the functionality. I usually advocate going for an indingenous option if its performance is as good as 80% of the import option. In this case, I feel that Ashok Leyland design could be less than 80% of what Tatra design is for following reasons:-
1.) Independent Swinging half-axles vs Bogie-type suspension
2.) Drive shaft fully covered by torque tube = more robust design vs exposed drive shaft

For a military "high mobility vehicle", off-road performance should be the prime consideration. Thus I was trying to discuss these points vis-a-vis the other points you brought up t.e. BEML = imported (not really, they got 86% indigenization, but I get it, its still license manufacturing).
I also don't know how much of the Super Stallion components are imported. One place it has an advantage is engine, BEML is yet to fully indigenize the engine of Tatra 815.
If we could get some more data on wheel travel, ground clearance, etc of the Super Stallion, we could compare the numbers to the Tatra 815 and have an objective look at things. For one thing, Super Stallion has CITS, which is good. What else?

Man can you get the full paper of this. Thnx in advance.
Sorry bro. I don't have access anymore. And this paper is post-2021 so can't get it from Libgen or SciHub either.

What i like about private sector over PSU is that

- A private sector company ll have that greed to earn money . They ll strive for export and maintaining quality .

- private sector is bound to be efficient otherwise they ll loose money .

- They dont have luxury of doing R&D for the sake of it at tax payer money . Wherever they ll invest it ll result in final product in a fixed period of time .

- Employee accountability and reward for performing good . You dont need to wait for promotion and be brilliant at the same time . If you are exceptional they ll hire you with whatever package . Flexibility in hiring .. Dont need to sit in exam . If you are good they ll find you based on your experience , project you have worked on or through campus placement .

- Difficult to sabotage or cause delay by someone as its your money , your IP .

Just a observation . forgive if i insulted any commie friend .
