The MIRV capability of India was also confirmed by Dr. Avinash Chander former DG of DRDO. He was involved in development of Agni Missile programme.

Any country that can launch multiple satellites on one rocket can launch MIRVs. Anyone who doubts that is a moron.

The problem though is that the actual MIRV bus has not been tested & adopted - and therefore does not factor in to the deterrence equation.

There's no point in having the capability on paper if you're not going to deploy it. When Pakistan claimed to have tested 2-MIRV on Ababeel that was the perfect casus belli for us to test our own. Now that INS Dhruv is also commissioned we can not only test but obtain accurate data on splashdowns which Pakistanis cannot.

But still no MIRV test is happening. Most likely its due to political compulsions...the same sort that compelled us to label the Agni-V's range just 500km short of being a true ICBM.

To be ICBM you need 5500km or above. We deliberately labeled it 500km short of it i.e. 5000km.

Anyone who thinks Agni 5 has 5000kms only is quite innocent and naive...

Even 3 MIRV configuration is already tested..
Of course Big Daddy of 10 MIRV configuration is not yet done as it's not required till now but won't be difficult as Bus is already validated and that's more than enough...

I don't think Pak ever claimed to have tested two MIRVs on Ababeel? They tested only carrier platform.

The approval in principle should be seen as first step in the process of ‘acceptance of necessity’ by the concerned Administrative Wing in MoD in consultation with Defence(Finance) and as a recommendation for eventual consideration of FM/CCS (as required).

So, in case of P-28A, now it would move to CCS for final approval after which construction and acquisition would happen.

Not now. These would go to CCS prior to acquisition.
After the DAC approval, it would go into prototype development and then testing. After that LSP and finally would go to CCS for series production.
