Whom should we blame if these lot who have 0 exp in fighters fly their 5th gen jet ahead of us?
So if we would have ordered GE F414 engine and it is delivered to HAL, does it mean we are progressing fast? Ordering a product which doesn't involve much work is easy. From prototype to production there is a gap of 1,000 KM. They still have a long way to go to even build the prototype. Since they are going it alone and with their economy in dumps how much resources can they allocate matters. It is an expensive and time consuming project. They don't even have the experience of building any fighter jet let alone 5th generation Jet. Let us see how they fair.

Its supposed to be rolled out in 2023 so its much ahead of amca, even if they miss a year that will still be put it around the same time as amca's roll out(if amca has not been delayed).
Btw there's a reason behind my pessimism sourav jha in his recent IAH said that new funds have not been released for tejas mk2 so ada is building just 1 jet saved from funds released in the past.
Now make ur own conclusions from this piece of info

Turks aerospace industry seem to be impressive.

their supersonic drone jet prototype just entered production

being part of NATO and EU customs union has it's advantages in technology sharing, they don't have to develop everything inhouse, they can just buy from their partners, which leads to faster developmental cycles.

Both South Korea and Turkey are receiving help from foreign companies in their 5th gen programs. BAE is helping Turkey and American, Isreali and Swedish companies are helping South Korea.
Americans did not even part with basic technology of flight control Radar for Koreans. To think they are going to help Turkey which has purchased S400 is naivety. I don't think any country will part with tech in military arena since so R & D has been spent to develop the tech, they would want that return on investment.

“Kalyani Strategic Systems has unveiled BHARAT 150, a multi-payload, variable mission drone indigenously developed by the group. The X-8 configuration drone is already under testing by Indian Army in high altitude areas in Leh-Ladakh; performed 8.5 KM with 20 kg payload.
The drone is a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with max take-off weight 150 kg. It is integrated with an indigenously developed radio communication system and Inertial Navigation System (INS) with anti-jamming capabilities.”

No kickback = No urgency

They'll wait for the frontier to get hot again and shamelessly plug in another "emergency procurement" request for Athos
  • 26 April to 02 May 2022. ATAGS completed desert trials in PFFR, which included firing trials in various modes and charge zones, thus marking the successful completion of trials to meet the Preliminary Staff Qualitative Requirements (PSQR), a precursor to formulation of the General Staff Qualitative Requirements (GSQR) by the user. Further trials of ‘non-firing parameters’, including electromagnetic compatibility and Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) trials will follow, clearance of which would lead to issue of a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the MoD/IA to Bharat Forge and Tata Advanced Systems, who would be contracted to deliver the initial order of 150 guns between them.
