The defense food research laboratory indeed has developed a wide array of mre rations for the militaryDo Indian armed forces use any kind of MRE ration? Last I heard, we were still using stoves and all to heat/cook ready-made foods, like pre-prepared rotis and curries.
All the modern armies are now using the MRE system for soldiers, especially for special forces who have to operate behind enemy lines, they won't have any luxury of setting up field kitchen to cook food.

@AVINASH4061 sir, how was your experience using NVGs? From what I’ve heard from those who’ve used them it takes a lot of time to adjust to use them and can cause headaches n all, is it true? Also when you were in service did you use monoculars or bioculars? Monocular Bioculardefenceforumindia.com
Meals– Ready- To- Eat [MREs] | Defence Research and Development Organisation - DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Government of India
Meals–Ready–to-Eat rations have been specially developed to meet the operational needs of the Army and Navy. The ration does not require any cooking since the contents are thermally processed and can be consumed readily after little warming, if required. The food so packed has one year shelf...www.drdo.gov.inhttps://www.drdo.gov.in/sites/default/files/inline-files/Writeup_MRE_Ration_Technology-converted.pdfView attachment 154625View attachment 154626View attachment 154627
As per my relative who had served a while back, he’s only seen MREs in Siachen and High Altitude regions when he was in service, but is more commonly available these days. But no way near the amount used by other nations.
What is this for I wonder.. it would be a great weapon if some one was fighting a defensive war in Indonesia or the Philippines or kutch for that matter
I hope they provide adequate amounts of amiphetamines to the men .View attachment 154624Indian Special Forces
