Does it all matters when the guys at helm who make decision seems to be driven by preconceptions rather than comprehensive studies, It seems atleast to me that some of the RFIs are somewhat made to fit certain weapons. At the end of the day the local jawaan will fight with whatever he is given, the onus of poorly equipped infantry lies solely on who buy those equipments and apparently there is thing where unutilized funds are sent back in India.

not sure about US but it happens in many Western countries, the whole testing team is changed multiple times to get it passed when they know it’s not good enough but they want equipment from that specific contractor.

Main problem is structural strength of the wing given the complex shape. This is the main reason a little change in wing shape over the decades. Aerodynamic design should also validate structural strength and also wing use as fuel tank has to be considered too. But ofcourse nothing harm in testing the unique wing designs.

Yup, people are unnecessarily calling it high recoil when it’s pretty normal for any 7.62x51mm rifle.

Ab toh hadd hi ho gayi, Pakistan has managed to make a battle rifle (NATO 7.62mm*51) and a pretty decent one at that. The recoil also seems lesser when compared to Sig 716 going by the video.

And we on the other hand took one of the best 7.62 battle rifles in the world and made it tatti with our OFB ammo which I think was made for our SLR 's which could take the abuse of our OFB ammo and still continue to work.

When will our people get there shit together and design a proper assault/battle rifle......
