Dhanush to be powered by metal from Midhani

Midhani chairman and managing director Sanjay Kumar Jha told TOI that the supply of high-strength special steel for ‘Dhanush’ would begin from Midhani to the Ordnance Factory Board once production begins.
“We have a lot of products for the Army. Right now, Dhanush is the latest weapon which has been developed in the country. A lot of components, especially high-strength special steel for the barrel of the gun, has been supplied by Midhani. The material for the components will be rolled out from the factory here,” Jha said.
Midhani has a factory within its premises at Kanchanbagh in Hyderabad which has been established with the support of the Ordnance Factory Board to meet its needs.`

Some interesting developments, the MoD has rejected Indian Army off the shelf purchase of 400 Athos 2052 guns which was the L1 of the initial contract to supply 1580 155/52 cal towed artillery systems to the Indian Army.
L&T, who alongwith Nexter developed the Trajan or CAESAR is offering 400 guns to the Indian Army with deliveries starting a year within signing of the contract. These guns will have 70% indigenous content.
The CAESAR was jointly developed by Ashok Leyland, Nexter, L&T

From the article above.

"Their successful completion will clear the acquisition of 150 ATAGS for Rs 3,365 crore, which will be divided among the two developers. These however are only initial GSQR trials and the field evaluation and user trials are still some way off. Going by the army’s laborious procedures, it could be at least five years before an order for the ATAGS is placed.“
Are we suppose to laugh or cry now. This doesn't even make sense. So they did five years of trials and called it GSQR trials. There will be another round of field trials? It's not making sense to me now. So no new 155 guns for another decade?

The Print article has a completely different take on the ATAGS trials.
Nowadays trusting Sandeep Unnithan is becoming difficult, he comes across more of a dalal right now.

Not sure what's real not real. We can only decide after some order is placed.

Nirbhay clearly has some deepseated teething issues... it's not the engines because Manik actually succeeded & the one with Russian engine crashed a few times.

Guns, drones & subsonic Cruise missiles are the field India have been stumbling at.
