if i'm right, we still don't have high altitude flight testing facility. there was an offset from an boeing deal
( i guess p8i) for which they said they wud built 100kn capable facility. does anyone have any idea of what happened to that offset deal??? @fire starter @Chinmoy @Karthi

Quite realistic , as the radar is almost similar and changes are less ,so main part of flight testing will begin soon , maybe iaf want them asap

Can be used for indigenous ISTAR development and testing, as well as ELINT, SIGINT and COMINT platforms as well, we have very few INT assets in the IAF, and ISTAR should not be alone, a few SIGINT, COMINT and even ELINT aircrafts should be there with IAF.

This is an Airbus A-321 (2nd hand from air India... approx 10 yrs old)... being customised for NETRA program.

Quite realistic , as the radar is almost similar and changes are less ,so main part of flight testing will begin soon , maybe iaf want them asap

Radar will be 20-25% larger... & additional scan antennas on front (maybe rear as well) to increase coverage from 240 degree to 300+ degrees

Any idea on how much time it will take for this testbed to go from its current state as an ex Air India aircraft to having the Netra AEW&C mounted onto it?

Why ? Isn't it not too weird to Photoshop a test bed , generally Photoshop are for some projects in limelight ,this was quite for some time
