View attachment 100128this is a 130 mm Soviet or Russian AK 130 naval artillery .
This should have been mounted on project 15 b class.
What we have mounted on it View attachment 100129oto melara 76 mm super rapid gun.
This one is a pichkari
Purpose differs... Oto Melara is to take out small vessels or ground installations.

Their naval artillery were mean he to do massive coastal bombardments.

Existing FAT with IA could tow 15ton gun. We made a 18ton gun.
Result. The existing FAT is of no use and we have to order brand new FAT for towing 20 ton gun.
Means. Its not the guns alone which is costing us, but along with it comes a entirely new requirement which no one has taken into account during design phase.
Workaround. 1) IA steps in and insists to reduce the weight.
2) IA gives an order of just 100 odd guns.

IA inducts 20 Ton tower.
Result. The fuel bill raises exponentially.
Means. Its not just the guns and new FAT for which army is paying. But now its the raised fuel bill also to take care of.
Workaround. 1) IA steps in and insists to reduce the weight.
2) IA gives an order of just 100 odd guns.

The new FAT ordered are 6x6 rather then the older 4x4.
Result. The newly ordered FAT are heavier then the existing ones.
Means. In the next manifest forwarded from MoD to Ministry of roadways would mention moving heavier vehicles on a given road stretch. Which means the tax MoD have to pay increases.
Workaround. 1) IA steps in and insists to reduce the weight.
2) IA gives an order of just 100 odd guns.

Now I personally don't like the 2nd workaround. Do you like it?

But other then that why should we give a damn to additional cost IA has to bear with just a 4 ton increment.
Barring the Tata LPTA 4x4 FAT for IFG and M777 all our FATs are 6x6. Old Scania FATs of Bofors and Russian ones of m46 have to be replaced anyway both are old and fuel guzzling . We are also inducting more artillery guns so we obviously need more FATs of larger size to keep up with the rest of the world. You may be right about the increase in fuel costs though, but we don’t know the fuel efficiency of the new ones compared to the old ones.

OFB is ToT from Elbit Israel.
I meant why did the navy choose a calibre they operate in very small numbers, since BEL RCWS already exists in the calibre the navy use. Plus it isn’t very difficult to change the weapon on the RCWS, just the FCS has to be adjusted and modified . Elbit themselves have a NSVT version of the RCWS OFB is now doing screwdrivergiri .

747 number order probably means all navy & CG boats are shifting to this new calibre.

have to check if there is a corresponding RFI or tender for ammo from navy & CG.

You may be correct, the new IN and ICG ALH MK3s too have GAU 21 50 cal HMGs. Maybe due to Elbits TOT is how OFB is now offering M2 brownings?
