DRDO anti-drone system

This is a good attempt but against a swarm of drones soft kill methods like jamming will be far more effective.

A laser system has many drawbacks eg bulky, not able to rapid fire. None of the systems around the world are operational, just under testing phase or are part of some experimental application. Frankly with our current or near future technologies I doubt a viable laser based weapon will be produced in the next 10-15 years.

A far more effective method against drones will be jamming, signal interferences etc.

Copy-pasting my post from a different thread:

These are Pentagon approved Counter-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS)

For Dismounted/Handheld Systems
:

1) Bal Chatri

2) Drone Buster

3) Smart Shooter

Interestingly 'Bal Chatri' is an Indian term literally meaning Bird Trapper.

Bal Chatri- used by SOCOM.

Dronebuster- Hijacks a drone’s wireless control link to make it “descend or go home.”

Smart Shooter- a targeting aide that makes conventional rifles precise enough to hit a flitting drone.

India can take inspiration and develop their own version.
Or
just as usual....Import.

My point exactly, all these anti UAV systems are all soft kill based. Even India is working towards these systems like the DRDO one but that one is not exactly portable, Although the private industry seems to be making strides in this sphere according to the below @defencedecode video

Ya'll Nibbiars now not possible. For that Mahindra Thar is a option.
Thar is a pig compared to Gypsy? I think utility vehicles need to be light weight with good power, fuel and all terrain capabilities and also cheap to purchase and maintain. That is the reason why Willys jeep and Russian UAZ (?) were so good vs whatever replaced jeep/

Ya'll Nibbiars there is no other SUV available with soft top unless made to the specifications. Even the scorpio will be large compared to the Gypsy and the new is even more costly.
