Delta-Canard configuration of the deck based fighter will undergo low-speed wind tunnel tests soon.

ADA received “informal requirements” for the TEDBF from the navy “very early in 2020”.

ADA worked out two configurations for the TEDBF programme — “Delta-Canard and Trapezoidal with Tail”.

Both configurations satisfy most of the requirements put forward by the Indian Navy.

Requirements that the navy has put in terms of carrier suitability and performance have been taken into consideration for this configuration.

The experience gained and technology developed by the ADA in the navalisation of the LCA will flow into the TEDBF programme.

TEDBF, will weigh around 23 tonnes, will be larger than the 13.5 tonne Tejas Mk-1 fighter and the 17.5 tonne Mk-2 version of the fighter. The fighter would be in the same class as the MiG-29Ks.

TEDBF would have the ability to carry a weapons payload of nine tonnes.

it will feature folding wings to save space.

TEDBF will be equipped with a large number of indigenous sensors and weapons.

TEDBF will have an improved version of the home-grown Uttam active electronically scanned array radar

Advanced version of India’s first air-to-air missile, Astra, will also be integrated on the TEDBF.

The TEDBF should be ready by 2026.

The Qualitative Requirements [QR] are being made.

India successfully conducted the first test of ‘Akash-Next Generation’ (Akash-NG).

All the mission objectives had been met and the missile system had performed as expected.

The missile intercepted the electronic target as simulated.

Flying at a supersonic speed it is capable of killing both subsonic and supersonic targets.

The new Akash system can defend an area of at least 10 times better compared to any short-range SAM and is capable of engaging up to 10 targets near simultaneously.

Early version of Akash has a maximum range of 30 km and can travel up to an altitude of 20 km, the Akash-NG can strike targets up to 70 km away.

The two-stage new generation missile has a cylindrical body with four cropped delta fins at mid-body and four tail fins.

Akash NG has a new propulsion system.

It possesses indigenous active RF seeker, laser proximity fuse, electro-mechanical actuation and pre-fragmented warhead.

NG comes with an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) multi-function radar that features all three functions – search, track and fire control in one platform. The earlier version, which is in service, is guided by a phased array fire control radar.

Rudra m3 air launched Hypersonic Ballistic Missile. in this pic 4 sets of control surfaces are visible , probably can do complex maneuvers including steep dive to target hiding behind mountains and may be for destroying Sea targets like Aircraft carriers . any way need to wait for the official confirmation
Rudra m3(hypersonic ballastic missile) +heavy torpedo launched from submarine and ships.
When used in combination quiet a deadly combo for Chinese aircraft carrier.

Chinese are flattering themselves if they think we copied their design as if they came up with 5th gen design.

We don't use short cuts like stealing data from US on F35 programs or buying design from Israel or straight up stealing Russian design and calling them J-whatever.

If we want to steal we would steal something good. Not cheap knockoffs of western products.

TEDBF with Delta wing with Canard design will have similarities with LCA - MK2. If this design is chosen then it will be a continuation of Tejas design and will have many commonalities with MK1, MK1A and MK2.

TEDBF with Trapeziodal wing with tail design will have similarities with Early Models of AMCA (minus internal weapons bay and inclusion of DSI). If this design is chosen then it will be a continuation of AMCA design and IN can hit 2 birds with one stone: TEDBF and NAMCA.

Three RudraM2 can be carried and depending on ground clearence two to three RudraM3 may also be carried by each Tejas mk2.

Just a genuine doubt , how's the progress for multiple aam launcher for astra mk 2 . And Don't you think 3 brahmos us quite heavy for it , structural strength of fuelage and wings should be greatly improved for it

LRDE Developed high power, wide band and wide scanning active phased array antenna in C-band using GaN based semiconductor technology.

With GaN tech LRDE achieved high peak power output from a smaller aperture with least heat dissipation.

Other salient features achieved include high directive gain, high P T , high efficiency, narrow beam width, low side lobe level (SLL), modularity and scalability over the specified frequency band and scan volume.

It is used for the realization of a four-walled active phased array radar.

C Band Quad TR Module.jpg

C-Band Quad T/R Module (C-QTRM) designed and developed by LRDE is the basic building block of the Active Array Antenna Units in the C-band programs for Indian Defence Agencies.

///////////////

LRDE developed True Time Delay (TTD) based wide-Band Quad Transmit and Receive Module (W-QTRM) for EW, communication and Radar applications.

Active phased arrays employing T/R modules for wide band application utilizes Time delay lines for beam steering in place of narrow band phase shifters.

This Wideband Quad TR Module can use for EW application over 1 to 5 GHz frequency range by using MMIC based TTD along with GaN power amplifier technology to achieve wide bandwidth and high efficiency.

More titbits and juicy news on Tejas mk2.

Important observations-

1. Aircraft level PDR had been completed just before covid and the project is in detailed design phase.

2. Critical design review of some LRU have been completed. Raw materials are now being procured and metal cutting of some LRUs have already commenced .

3. Dr Rao, the project director Mk2 says that they plan to roll out Mk2 in August of 2022 and have its first flight a year later.

4. Feasibility studies of integrating heavy standoff weapons with Tejas mk2 have been completed. Storm Shadow, Crystal Maze, Spice 2000 will be integrated .

5. On the indigenous front, Nirbhay air launched cruise missile, Brahmos NG aka M , all three Rudra missiles including the hypersonic aero ballistic missile Rudra M3 will be integrated with MWF. Besides many indigenous standoff bombs like LRGB ,Gaurav and Gautam will be integrated . MWF will be a heavy hitter and carry quite a payload over long ranges .

6. Some hardpoints are rated at 1800 kgs. So any existing and now being developed air to ground missile in the world can be carried by MWF.

7. From the pics, it's evident that there are three stations which will be able to carry 1800 kg heavy payloads.

8. RudraM3 will have a 570 km range.

9. Sensor configuration studies have been completed and the placement of various antennas has also been finalised. Will have IRST, maws, advanced electronic warfare suite with internal jammer , cmds , rwr besides an aesa radar .

Our beloved Tejas mk2.

3 Brahmos M / Nirbhay /RudraMIII / Spice 2000 / 1000 kg glide bombs .

The combinations are endless .

The second pic shows a Gripen like flight actuator for flap which is at the side of the rear fuselage rather than under the wings to minimize drag. So we will not see the large bulky bumps in Mk2.

MWF Air intake changed , now it's bigger than MK1 so can utilise the full potential of Engine , Canard and more powerful Engines will help to carry more Payload and better manuverablity , don't know how much streamlined the design is to reduce drag so overall the range will be better .

MWF will have IRST , Internal advanced EW suit . Can carry RudraM3 , Nirbhay , Brahmos NG , SCALP( Desi SCALP SMART Cruise Missile will be added ) Porks and Chinkies will get Grand welcome and fireworks .

The range of these Standoff Weapons are between 500-1000. I cried a lot after realising that entire Porkistan width is somewhere 500Km
