Bhai r

Bhai read above messages atleast...
There is some problem with helina ...and sant
So now sant fired from ground luncher
Ummm, the article only talks about Nirbhay having issues with a booster that's it, it does mention that Nag is ready for induction, SANT was tested using ground launcher but it was successful, Helina/Dhruvastra was already tested i think last month or before that successfully using ground-based launcher too.
Despite all this there's no news about induction of any of these...that's why i was asking.

Bhai sant was already tested from mi35.....
Then again they fired sant from ground luncher means some changes were there and it will take time before it fired from helicopter again....so not production ready yet

So guys the snag was with the booster of nirbhay missile.....
Now rectified
Something isn't right here.

If there was a snag in the booster, the missile wouldn't have flown for almost seven minutes during that test. The missile would have tumbled ,it would have failed to achieve the required speed required for successful ignition and operation of the turbofan engine and the deployment of wings. And the test would have to be aborted just seconds after the launch.

During the last launch, booster was successfully ejected, the turbofan missile ignition and deployment of wings took place without a hitch and only after some minutes of flight did the STFE develope snags which forced the team to abort the test.

Also, Nag isn't a mpatgm. So as long as our own DRDO MPATGM isn't ready after going through the developmental trials, we will continue to import small quantities of Spike LR in the form of emergency purchases. This is in reference to Shishir Gupta's assertion.

OTL 1500 finds application with military and Para military forces. It can be used for active scanning and monitoring of specific areas, detection of pointed optics viz., snipers, area sanitization as well as border security.

Since nobody answered

The SMART missile doesn't fit inside the cannister . Possibly the cannister is shaurya cannister and is therefore a temporary arrangement.

A large part of its nose section is above the cannister which terminates at the topmost launcher holding arm.

Presence of a gas generator section at the bottom .
If we look at the Shaurya TEL the canister can sit comfortably behind the cabin but the holding arm prevents the canister from resting in a horizontal position .

One of the reason could be that just like SMART , the shaurya could also extend beyond the length of the canister .

Maybe you got influenced by this

This is for display purpose only during parades , shows etc . Because Government thinks ordinary Indians are morons who if not shown the pointy nose sticking out of a launcher will consider it to be empty and not dangerous enough.

Reason why they do this with brahmos pinaka also

So if I were to use this logic does it mean , brahmos and pinaka rounds extends beyond their cannisters too.

The very purpose of a cannister round is to keep the missile inside in hermetically sealed , temperature controlled condition so as to prevent degradation of components of missiles during storage , operational deployment , ready to fire conditions etc . Cannistered missiles can last way beyond 10 years upto 30 years.

Refer the 4 pic's above. Shaurya is a cannistered missile fully enclosed and sealed tight. It doesn't extend beyond the cannister , I will guarantee it 110 %.

The holding arm is installed for the parade display purpose only. Refer the pic's below

Shaurya TBM's MAL.jpg

There is no holding arm on the vehicle itself ( as seen in the shaurya tel in the parade show ) , but a rest mount is seen on the cannister launcher top most bracket itself.

For SMART they added in a mount to the shourya tel ( same as in parade display vehicle ) to hold the SMART missile above the cabin since the SMART missile extends beyond the cannister unlike shaurya missile.

The final moments of the Nag Atgm just before it hit its target- a derelict Vijayanta in a top attack mode.

Now we need to place an order for around 100 Namica and deploy half of them in Eastern Ladakh. Namica can also be used in a bunker busting role at the LoC. The possibilities are endless. We need to induct this asap.

it's better to develop ground launched versions of dhruvastra and SANT.

So, no problem with the engine ? Was the test aborted inspite of the manik engine functioning successfully, as the altitude was all wrong ?
