How many under carriage modifications SU-30 will go thru? one would assume once SU-30 is modified to carry Brahmos, it is universal all other heavy loads on that hard point.
Aerodynamic interaction same for all systems ?

Talk by Mr Vasudevan R, LRDE, DRDO
at 1:05:00 in the slide there are some radars mentioned in 2020. Anyone has some information about these ?

1) DAPAR in Medium range surveillance and Multifunction Radars.
2) Akash-NG and BSR-BMFR in Radars for SAM systems and artillery.
3) ANVESHA in Airborne, Imaging and Space based Radars. (From the picture looks like space based radar)
4) SBR and LRR in Long Range and Very Long Range Radars. (SBR is ship based)

Guess Akash-NG will also have conformal radars mounted on a HMV.

I think it will be using "adaptive beam forming" phased array radar which allows the radar beam to be “shaped” and "focused" in desired directions to enhance specific range / detection characteristics.

Below is the drdo experimental test bed to test the same

Is it that those 40 Su-30 MKI to be modified for Brahmos will not carry 1.6 RUDRAM 3?

or too soon to tell?
Weight is not the only parameter to consider. Aerodynamic compatibility of the missile with the aircraft for carriage , launch , separation , plume interaction , vibrations etc has to be tested for in stimulations and then in real before a missile is cleared for operational deployment on an aircraft.

Air launched brahmos weights 2.3-2.5 tons which is why strengthening of centerline station is required . RudraM3 weights 1.6 ton which can be carried by Su30mki without any modifications whatsoever.

What I am interested in is whether LCA MK1(a) can carry it or not , old information states that LCA centerline station is rated to 1200 kg . Wonder if it has been ( or could be ) increased to 1600 kg , provided they are looking to arm LCA with it , most probably LCA MK1(a) will get certified with RudraM2/2A . LCA MK2 will definitely be able to carry RudraM3.

So this clears doubts on whether DIRCM was ever tested with ALH or not.

Most probably IAF / IA didn't opt for it.

Let's see if IAF / IA is their usual short sightedness acquires LCH without DIRCMs. DIRCM is a must for fool proof protection of attack helicopters against manpads encountered at low altitudes especially in mountainous regions.

As per 2015 report, Mi-17V5 were the first to have received DIRCM. LCH will have these as well. As far as ALH is concerned, DIRCM is part of upgrade package.
