All Actual products are 10-15 years old, not even relabelled. While others are foundation laying or MOUs, very low level Media manipulation propaganda

Actually it shows that Atama-ka-bharata is poor joke just like Fake-ing-in-India.
It appears, they do think that poor Rajnath Singh to be real turtle and they are leading him into a shore turtle nest under the soft sand..

I wish VK Singh was there. He would thrown those out of window and put the GM of those factories behind bars..

OFB RCWS.

carries a NSVT HMG, which is mounted on a two-axis stabilizer. RCWS can be used to engage both ground and aerial targets, with keeping its operator safe from threats. The station was intended for the upgraded Arjun Mk. IA main battle tank (MBT).

isnt this the big special ship with the radar used for tracking ballistic missiles?is only one ship of this type being made?

Me thinks along with the test bed for guided missiles the ship will also be used to qualify sea-worthy radars. So just a test bed for our aegis equivalents.

BNET Airborne Software Defined Radio will be installed on MK1A , Mig 29 UPG, LCH etc

Navy already started to install on its Mig 29 K and Ka 28 . Astra microwaves are partners I think . Don't know what happened to HAL SDR.
HAL SDR is being used in su30 and jaguar. Any one knows the why reason why not in other platforms.

No there are 2 ships being built

1. VC11184 OSS MRIS ( missile range instrumentation ship ) it is for very long range searching, tracking and telemetry control of airborne objects eg long range ballistic missiles ( ICBMs / SLBMs ) , long range cruise missiles , trajectories of multiple MIRVs simultaneously or progressively released from ICBMs / SLBMs , hypersonic missiles etc.

A6.33.jpg

It's primary radar is a X band radar inside the biggest dome , it has 2 other smaller secondary S band radars inside smaller domes.

2. DRDO project 20 ship also known as technology demonstration vessel. It is the 2nd MRIS ship . It is smaller than VC11184.

It has the dual panel LR-MFR ( long range multifunction radar ) and 4 SLS ( ship launch system ) launchers for launching primarily AD 1 and AD 2 interceptors . IMO SLS launchers were also be configured or modified when required to launch long range cruise missiles , long range SAMs , SMART missiles etc for testing purposes. The SLS launchers are housed one level below the ship deck . And the openings are covered by retractable hatches.

Inorder to launch the missile the hatch opens and the launcher is articulated from stowed position 0° to firing position 90° . After that on command the missile is launched. Missiles are also reloaded inside the deck through a reloading mechanism.

IMO LR-MFR will also be used to complement the radars on VC11184 inorder to track near end trajectory and splash points of MIRVs ( after handover ) , missile warheads , low level flight trajectory of cruise missiles , interception points of missiles and their airborne targets etc.

Both the ships are part of drdo floating test range .

OK. So it looks like AD-1 or AD-2 missile could be based on Shaurya SSM. Shaurya SSM is 6.2 tons and 10 meters long. The poster below lists SLS capability as "launching articles of up to 7 tons weight" and a loading mechanism: "highly accurate 10 meter long article guiding mechanism". Another poster on the blog (source linked below) shows diagram of the loading mechanism in action.

Shaurya SSM has a lesser throw weight at 1 ton compared to 2.5 tons for Agni-1 (both at 700 km range). Agni-1 booster used on the PDV Mk-II missile used for anti-satellite test was later confirmed capable of taking out targets upto altitudes of 1200 km. Which means AD-1/2 missile is not going to be able to fly to those altitudes. But it still might be capable of reaching lower parts of the LEO (Low Earth Orbit), thereby giving AD-1/2 missile limited ASAT capability.

The satellite pics show 4 SLS being fitted onto the DRDO ship. So maybe they plan to test out AD-1/2 missile capablities against a salvo of ICBM-trajectory mimicking missiles?

What about the radar? @porky_kicker do you know the range of that Dual Panel Long Range-MFR being installed on that ship? Is it comparable to LRTR Mk-II? Is LRTR Mk-II even operational?

As an aside, in the Prasun Sengupta blog post I linked above, he misinterprets the posters of the company that manufactures DRDO designed missile launchers. In the last poster on SLS, three different launchers are shown. One is SLS, then Akash (possibly NG variant) and then the Tilter-cum-Launcher (ADV MkII launcher). He then proceeds to explain how SLS has a "variant" to launch the Akash NG. Earlier he calls SLS a "universal" launcher.
Earlier, when I used to read his blog, I thought he must have some sort of insider information or something. But looks like not only is he quite clueless, but also very poor at basic comprehension.
