Air Mshl HS Arora VCAS visited College of Air Warfare, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, DRDO & AFA at Hyderabad from 21-22 Jan.

VCAS inspected the MRSAM system, shortly being inducted into IAF & reviewed ongoing weapon & missile projects with scientists DRDO. He assured them of IAF support in indigenous R&D efforts.

Few nos of smart anti airfield weapon had already been inducted in IAF .

Air Marshal HS Arora with brand new soon to be dispatched Mrsam MLU and CCU units . IAF had ordered 9 squadrons of Mrsam . More Mrsam squadrons will be ordered soon .

From AM HS 's visit to missile complex of DRDO. Compare the cruciform fin arrangement and the trapezoidal shape of the fins with those on AD-1 .

The yellow missile is Rudram-3 which is a hypersonic aero ballistic missile weighing 1500-1600 kgs. Can be fitted with a plethora of seekers for various target sets.

So, the maiden trial of AD-1 will happen in the next few weeks or months .AD-1 is meant for intercepting IRBM class of missiles in its late mid phase and early terminal phase and ICBM in the terminal phase of their flights. Both the AD -1 2 are engineering Marvel's . A work of engineering art ,you can say

DRDO’s successful flight test of Smart Anti Airfield Weapon

Hyderabad: DRDO has successfully conducted captive and release trial of indigenously developed Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW) from Hawk-I of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) off the Odisha coast on January 21.

The smart weapon was successfully test fired from Indian Hawk-Mk132 of HAL. This was the ninth successful mission of SAAW conducted by DRDO. “It was a textbook launch, which met all mission objectives. The telemetry and tracking systems installed at Interim Test Range, Balasore captured all the mission events,” the DRDO said in a release, on Friday.

Why not make a naval variant of AMCA instead of TEDBF?

Wouldn't amca have TVC pitch,yaw and roll?
AMCA will most probably feature 2D TVC. DRDO worked a lot jointly with the Russians on this technology few years back.
Also, HAL has some experience working with TVC gained by assembling the AL-31 engine in its Koratpur plant.
In Mark2. For Mark1 the engine is still F414, although it has option for TVC, as was offered in MMRCA... So it depends on whether India is going to acquire the usual version or not (F404-IN20 too is unique version is tailored for India).

Do you have some evidence claiming this is AMCA Radome?
This just looks like some random computer generated image.
The serrated joint pattern doesn't make sense?
Why are their second set of serrated Joint in left bottom corner?
It is posted by Ananth krishnan very credible handle. Second set of serrated joint may be side looking radar or DAS.

After seeing this scale model I think this is a pretty good Stealth Design , Nose section is very interesting - better stealth , good airflow for engine , better stealth from sideways. The air intake structure( side ways) much similar to F22 and offers better stealth features( unlike that shitty J20 ) top section also offers better stealth from AWACS which searches from above .
No EOTS , two patches in the nose section indicates may be Some sensors like cheek mounted Radar , No IRST , The HySIS spectral imaging satellite can directly feed into AMCA so it will get EOTS&IRST like sensor support without sensors , probably they will be added in the MK2 or may be it is already there .

Think they want a super Stealthy Aircraft without any protruding surfaces , May be better stealth than F22 & F35 if we use similar materials like of 22&35 .

Only time will tell how good it will be. Some people are disappointed that it doesn't look much fancy and immediately concluded it is not upto the mark , no words for those .
