Does not make sense to have two production lines for HMG. oFB manufactures NSV already. Can someone shed some light on this?

NSV has some service issue as far as what is there in news. Moreover when you shift to NATO system like recent RCWS for IN & CG, you can't mount the NSV on those. So better to switch to the parent weapon system. On top of that, a loaded NSV is way heavier then a M2.

NAMICA also has a RCWS fitted with a machine gun ( right side ).

In the pic the machine gun is not shown, only the empty RCWS.

Tender is for 96.
while I am happy that IA is doing a jugaad, very curious to see where they would place the mount and how much protection is given to the gunner.

Army starts process to purchase 1500 anti-materiel rifles

A Request for Information (RFI) for purchasing the rifles has been issued today according to which the weapons should have a range of at least 1.8 kilometres with a calibre of 12.7 mm/0.50.
