In the Ancient Afghanistan there were the magnificent Hindu Kingdon like the Mauryas and the Gandhara. The exploits of these wonderful Kingdom are Well Known. There were well endowed Culturally, spiritualy and Militarily. The ancient Religion Zoarastrian has probably orignated from there.

Mauryans

Ashoka made the Grant Trunk Road long time back and built good Roads and Restrooms throughout the present Day Afghanistan. Art and Culture flourished there.

Kushan Empire

Early in the 2nd century under Kanishka, the most powerful of the Kushan rulers, the empire reached its greatest geographic and cultural breadth to become a center of literature and art. Kanishka extended Kushan control to the mouth of the Indus River on the Arabian Sea, into Kashmir, and into what is today the Chinese-controlled area north of Tibet. Kanishka was a patron of religion and the arts. It was during his reign that Buddhism, which was promoted in northern India earlier by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka (c. 260 BC–232 BC), reached its zenith in Central Asia.

In addition to that there were kabul Shahi,Achaemenid ,Alexander,Kabul Shahi and much More.

And Compare those Gloriuos Times to the Present Day Islamic Afghanistan. I mean what is there apart from terrorism, Killing,Ambushes,War,Destroying of Bamyan Statue,Dogs Called taliban.

I mean Islam has really ruined Afghanistan.

I will Quote Al-Biruni who was the Historian at that time. Quoted by him in Wikipedia

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gandhara

Al Biruni writing c. 1030 CE, reported on the devastation caused during the conquest of Gandhara and much of northwest India by Mahmud of Ghazni following his defeat of Jayapala in the Battle of Peshawar at Peshawar in 1001:

"Now in the following times no Muslim conqueror passed beyond the frontier of Kâbul and the river Sindh until the days of the Turks, when they seized the power in Ghazna under the Sâmânî dynasty, and the supreme power fell to the lot of Nâṣir-addaula Sabuktagin. This prince chose the holy war as his calling, and therefore called himself al-Ghâzî ("the warrior/invader"). In the interest of his successors he constructed, in order to weaken the Indian frontier, those roads on which afterwards his son Yamin-addaula Maḥmûd marched into India during a period of thirty years and more. God be merciful to both father and son ! Maḥmûd utterly ruined the prosperity of the country, and performed there wonderful exploits, by which the Hindus became like atoms of dust scattered in all directions, and like a tale of old in the mouth of the people. Their scattered remains cherish, of course, the most inveterate aversion towards all Muslims. This is the reason, too, why Hindu sciences have retired far away from those parts of the country conquered by us, and have fled to places which our hand cannot yet reach, to Kashmir, Benares, and other places. And there the antagonism between them and all foreigners receives more and more nourishment both from political and religious sources."[22]

During the closing years of the tenth and the early years of the succeeding century of our era, Mahmud the first Sultan and Musalman of the Turk dynasty of kings who ruled at Ghazni, made a succession of inroads twelve or fourteen in number, into Gandhar – the present Peshwar valley – in the course of his proselytizing invasions of Hindustan.[23]

Fire and sword havoc and destruction, marked his course everywhere. Gandhar which was styled the Garden of the North was left at his death a weird and desolate waste. Its rich fields and fruitful gardens, together with the canal which watered them (the course of which is still partially traceable in the western part of the plain), had all disappeared. Its numerous stone built cities, monasteries, and topes with their valuable and revered monuments and sculptures, were sacked, fired, razed to the ground, and utterly destroyed as habitations.[23]

The thread is strange. Its the people not the religion who make a country.Sometimes even the people cannot determine a nation`s destiny.Luck plays a part.

Taliban ruined A-stan, not Islam.

In the '60, '70 decade years, A-stan was a prosperous country, even it being an Islamic-majority country.

I for one would rather have preferred a Buddhist-Hindu-Zorastrian Afghanistan than this Taliban infested terror den. Islamism is not possible in the first place without Islam, the slaughter of the Buddhists by Islam was too great in Afghanistan to be ignored.

They weren't in the pits like now before the arrival of taliban thanks to saudi-yankee-paki nexus.

Not Islam but the gang rape by the Soviets amd Americans ruined the country.
Till mid seventies Afghanistan was a modest and open society with girls wearing skirts.

Then the Soviets attacked Afghanistan and CIA/MI5 pumped 40.000 muslim criminals from all over the world into the country to fight a CIA covert war.
They gave birth to the Mujahideen and later to Taliban.

Wrong. Don't know where you read that part of history. Please consider re-reading your history.
The Afghanistan that you talk about as a "modest and open society with girls wearing skirts" was governed by a pro-Socialist government which had good relations with the Soviet Union.
And no, the Soviets did not give "birth" to Mujahideen nor did it "attack" Afghanistan.
The Soviets came into Afghanistan after repeated requests (some which were rejected by the Soviets) from the legitimate Afghan government to overthrow the Mujahideen (who wanted to take Afghanistan back to 7th century).
The US, ever trying to stab the Soviets, sent in more radicals and money (with assisitance from Pakistan, KSA and some others) and effectively started the destruction of the country (Afghanistan).

I have glanced through the article, will read it later.
Does that article say that the Soviets attacked ?
It claims that the US tried to destabilize the USSR using the Mujahideen etc and also that they (amriks) got the assistance of Pakistan and KSA in the process of destabilizing Afghanistan. This is in line with what I have posted above.

Not Islam but Islamists, Not islam but Taliban,Not Islam but CIA Funded Mujhadiheens.. ALl these are just about excuses. What are the Talibans fighting for? Shariat Law , which is the basis of Islam.

And Soviets were involved in the Country for hardly a Decade . Budhist Statues being destroyed, they dont want to see Idols in their Country. The Heritage has gone to Toilets.. By Heck, Islam is majorly responsible for Destroying Afghanistan.

Yes Pakistan sided with the US as India sided with USSR providing logistic and medical support. Guess who was CIA's main ally back then?
Osama bin Laden!

The article does not say Russia attacked Afghanistan but does explain how Russians were manipulated to go into Afghanistan by USA!!

In 1998, after the successful destabilization of Afghanistan, Zbigniew Brzezinski, formerly President Carter's National Security Advisor, admitted that covert U.S. intervention began long before the USSR sent in the requested troops. "'That secret operation [National Security Council Directive 166] was an excellent idea," he explained. "The effect was to draw the Russians into the Afghan trap."[2]

Afghanistan became a battleground between two cold war super powers and got raped badly.
Islamism was the weapon designed and used by CIA!
