Uttar Pradesh should go all in on Textile manufacturing. The abundance of cheap labor in UP means there will be low inputs leaving even in Bangladesh in the dust. Let the Western UP focus on Electronics. The Eastern UP should focus on Textile industry. I hope Yogi can make plans to build few world class metro cities in Eastern UP. This will take burden away from western UP and wealth distribution would be more even. UP developing at a breakneck speed will have a ripple effect on Bihar and Jharkhand.

Up govt. is working very proactively on making UP a Textile manufacturing hub. UP is offering several incentives for setting up textile manufacturing plants in UP.

We have been promised unmatchable incentives and option to set up industrial cluster at prime areas like near Yamuna Expressway near the upcoming Noida International Greenfield Airport, which would be India’s biggest airport.”
The dumb niggas making policy can't think above Nodia.

At this rate we are gonna end up like super cluster cities such as Tokyo.

No city should be as big as Tokyo

That is because Eastern UP is still decades behind in terms of infrastructure when compared to Western UP. Plus the law and order situation was also very bad (which has now been very much fixed). Corruption was very rampant. That is why no body wanted to invest in Eastern UP 2-3 years ago when the policies were being made. Now things have changed a lot. Now Eastern UP has 3 Expressways (Purvanchal Expressway(Complete), Gorakhpur Link Expressway(U/C), Prayagraj Link Expressway(Planning in final stages)). But dedicated power lines are being installed for industrial areas (many districts didnt even have industrial areas). Logistics hubs will be setup along side Purvanchal Expressway. But it will surely take atleast 1-1.5 years to come on ground. We can expect by 2023 Q3, we will see many textile manufacturing plants being setup in Eastern UP. But the govt. is currently working on giving boost to the local Handlooms/Powerlooms industry, which is also bringing a lot of good results.

But some industries would have to be clustered together as it would be more efficient to have similar needs and requirements fulfilled at the same location.

UP would do well to assign different areas for industries of different specialities.
