KARACHI: A blast at a gas station near NIPA traffic intersection injured three people here on Sunday, Geo News reported.
Reportedly, the blast, which is said to have been triggered by gas leakage, was loud enough to be heard miles around.
On the contrary, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC)engineer, Wazir Soomro, after inspecting the site said it was not a gas-leakage blast but a cracker attack.
"There are no signs of gas leakage or a burst pipeline. Some low intensity explosive device like a cracker led to the explosion" said he talking to Geo News.
Among the injured is also a rickshaw driver who was there for a CNG refill.
Security officials reached the CNG station to evaluate the damage. Emergency responders rushed the injured to hospitals where they were being treated for their injuries.
Further investigation was underway.
