After doing some Research on Taiwans Defense Forces. I came across that it has a vast fleet of very old M48 and M60 Patton Tanks. Clearly, they are in need of replacement. So, my question is considering must of the troubles are past in regards to India's Arjun Tank. Would it be a good replacement for Taiwan's Aging Tank Fleet???

Interesting question but if you look at Taiwan's acquisition history you will find that they buy almost exclusively US weapons, they would most likely buy Abrams before anything else, since their security depends on their relations with USA.

may be Yes, how will Taiwan be allowed to buy this Tank?
as china will black mail India to give more goodies to Pak,
the Govt will never go ahead.
as this happened once, when Colombia was interested in Arjun tanks, but with due to US pressure India didnt go ahead.

requirement of Tiwan is different, if they need arjun type tank, then US would have sold A1M1 tank to them.

I second with Saya..Tiwan doesn't not need heavy MBTs and even if it does it will buy M1A1 directly from USA in return for supporting Tiwan against China.

You're havin' a laff mate..do you really think our pusillanimous excuse of a government (irrespective of the ruling party) would even acknowledge that there is a quasi-state known as Taiwan much less contemplate a military agreement with them? If by a miracle they do, expect to see the commies come out in droves to placate their masters up north.

Would it be a " GOOD" replacement for Taiwan's ageing Tank Fleet ? Good?
If the IA would not like Arjun to be its MBT why would Taiwan want it , especially when they can go for ABRAMS.

1. big-size heavy tanks like Arjue and M1 is not fit for moutainous Aast Asia. that is why Japan's T90, S.KOrea's KM1, CHina's T99 are all small-size light tankers.

2. Taiwanese distrust the quality of Arjurn.
here is taiwanese miliatry forum http://www.itechlutions.com/cobrachen/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6456
if you could read it, you would know how Taiwanese mock India-made projects from LCA to Arjue.
It is harder to persude Taiwanese that India-made weapons is reliable than to persude MR. Armand here that China-made weapons is reliable...hahaha.

3. Whatever Tank taiwanese buy can not change the final of pertential war against mainland China at all.
When PLA's tank has landed on Taiwan, the war in fact would have ended.

Badguy Taiwan would have the full support of USA in any war you delusions are not accurate, Taiwan is an independent country that China still has not been able to conquor and with US support most likely never will.

well ,to CHIna, war against Taiwan is a political issure ,instead of a miliatary issue.

Whether USA supports Taiwan or not, China can occupy Taiwan before USA's reinforce .

however, Once the war were to happen, it would be far beyond the conflict bTW Mainland CHina and Taiwan. Whether USA and CHina can hardly control the course of the war.

it even might be the blasting fuse of the 3rd world war.

So, If either USA or China is not ready for WW III, either had better prevent any conflict between Mainland CHina and Taiwan.

Georgian also thought they can get full support from U.S.
How can you compare the half a century long US military ties with Taiwan and Georgia that's in Russia's backyard.

HA HA HA , I would not be surprised even if you say that defeating US military would be a cakewalk. Why do you keep posturing like in 1996.Do something and prove yourselves. Don't pretend as if yuo have no fear at all.

The so called military ties just is selling weapon, Taiwan give money to U.S., U.S. give some weapons to Taiwan.

American (soldiers') life is the most important thing for U.S., reunify territory is the most important thing for China.

Preserving US interest comes first above anything else even soldiers, look at ww2 how many soldiers US sacrificed for the tiny island of Iwo Jima.

Georgia started the conflict in south ossetia, Taiwan is unlikely to attack the mainland anytime soon.
Didn't talk the reason, I meant Georgia put major hope on U.S., they thought U.S. would help them against Russia, just like somebody think U.S. solider will sacrifice for Taiwan.
